30 Days of Dead November 11
11/12/76 on 11/11/13 did dave play some of this set on sirius xm today in gd history? anyone hear the show? i was stuck at work. just wondering seems he played tunes from another pick a few days ago during his segment (although the date was way off)
A Slam Duncan!
Can we please get a nice Days Between? I don't think I have any versions of that at all. Thanks for considering this request.
So thankful for the 30 Days of Dead each year. The contest is great, too. I could think of a lot worse ways to spend my time than figuring out the date/venue of great versions of great songs.
This Black Peter is no joke - Jerry's voice and Phil's bass…whew! Will listen to the whole show tomorrow!
New yorks got the ways and means; but just wont let you be, oh no.
If thee eye is on the prize then finding the correct answer daily is reward enough. Those of you with the ear and resources may find it rather easy at times. Either way it is a great way to look forward to the day. The rest of this date is quite nice by the way!
No daily prizes? Have you not realized its all about the money money money for Rhino. Just enjoy the music and old memories don't expect anything else in return except that.
After reading the rules it looks like the 30 winners will be in the running for the grand prize. That's OK I guess, but a daily trinket would be nice. Even a postcard with the artwork on it. A Stealie sticker. Something, anything to justify the hours of torment.
This is the first year I haven't seen daily prizes listed. I was kind of wondering. Maybe they could give out those items listed in the window at the upper right as prizes... :]
Thanks once again for the music. Kudos to the web team--in the past there have been several issues at the beginning of the month, but this time--everything works well and quickly. Nice job!
Hey David, congrats - I live in Pittsfield too!
"But who can the weather command.." Got our first snow in SE Wisconsin today. Sure do love coming home to the 30 Days of Dead. Makes the"the weather down here so fine"… Thanks for making this one a little easier, have a lot going on tonight!
Oh yeah... The wheels are greased and turnin' with ease...
I went to college in this sleepy town and would have killed to see the band play there. Problem is - they never set foot in the city after a killer '72 show.
Considering the size of the state they played remarkably few concerts there.
I'm 9 and 1 , i didn't get Cream Puff War .
I'm 8-2, missed CPW and Shakedown.
Phil's bass is amazing on this version. Really spurs the band on to greatness.
Been Playing this fine game since 2011 (change name each year), and though it's been frustrating at times, and crazy easy at times, always fun!! Always interesting to see clues passed forward, though often guess too early (wrong guess, but know the right show before deadline). It's amazing how much easier it gets as you develop a method (listen to ENTIRE song, check dead sets, Archive, etc.) I think this combo only done 4-5 times. Certainly not in it for the bling- though I want main prize!
ps- Seeing as I'm working in Bulgaria currently and new songs come out at 10am here, one would think I would have a HEAD start, but woefully not the case (as I listen to the 2012 30 days). Peace to all!
one more thing that i'm sure has not gone unnoticed by many is that this is the 1st black peter in the 4 years of the november downloads. thanks! love the song, and this one sounds wonderful..!!! (of course i maybe wrong, which if so, sorry...)
30 Years 2012 (Last Year) 2.11.70 Fillmore East, NYC and it was oh so fine!
yup. right there. typical me...
I have got them all right so far, except the first one, the Shakedown. I didn't know it was happening till the 2nd day, but I have guessed all right (after the Shakedown) so far!
Peace love & the Grateful Dead!
Anyone 10 for 10 so far as we are 1/3 of the way through? Not me, a couple stumbles outta the gate early.
Batting .1000 here, too. Assuming on the Cleveland thing as well. In four years I have only gotten five wrong (missed the unlisted Black Peter last year, but was only a week off--nailing the Cream Puff War last week made up for it). Have yet to winning anything, but that's okay. When I travel long distance I have an 19 hour set list in my iPod!
Yes, so far….
Assuming they accepted Cleveland Public Hall for Sugaree I have gotten them all so far. I think last year I was 29 for 30 but still didn't win anything. Oh well. I still look forward to playing everyday.
Well done! So going back to last year, you are 39 out of the last 40....hats off to you. It would be nice to win something but I agree with you that even if I don't, I look forward to it every morning. Cup of coffee w/ the Dead
Was hoping for a good one!
No U.S. Blues at all.
Wow! Maybe the best version I heard of BP
And I think I don't have this show in my own "Vault".... Astounding, quintessential Jerry/Dead. To me it sounds late 71 with Godchaux...
I found the show ; )
I only saw the Grateful Dead Twice , in 82 and 83 and both times they played Black Peter .
Jerry's playing is so tasty here. Great licks throughout.
thanks for last 30 seconds
and a Super Duper Version!
Just listen to the music play! No hint required.
And I believe I'll have that full show too, Please.
Thank You Veterans!!!
Yep. An easy near base ick one for today. Thought I posted this earlier this a.m., but failed to 'save'.
The "Kirk to bridge" comment is hilarious! Gave me a big LOL 1st thing this a.m.
The streak continues.... We have not been seriously challenged in a few days now. Great sounding version of Black Peter. "Run and see"
maybe I'll just wait until tomorrow to guess. *wink*
That was my first clue. I've never listened to this show all the way through, but I will say that there's a monster hiding in plain site in the second set!
came "SWALLIN" through the door...
gotta love a sweeeet black peter to start the day!
Thank you, guys at dead.net, for making November – otherwise one of the bleakest months – a place of joy and happiness!!
so some have asked- since i won a few days back- what i won and other questions, ( i just realized there is an email portion to this website so if i missed your email forgive me) but wanted to say i haven't got word of winning any prize for being the daily winner, and since the rules this year are quite confusing , at least to me, i don't know if there are prizes other than the grand prize. so i don't know. if any other person who has won this year would like to post their ideas or experience that would be helpful to me, and others perhaps. and maybe some admin will see this and let me know if i'm supposed to contact someone or do something besides jump around and yell i won, which i did, but it didn't make anything happen. except my dog ran out of the room.
by the way thanks to those that sent the nice congrats and i wish you all all the best of luck yourselves. (except i want to win the grand prize so back off of that)
peace ya bunch of hippies!
... That is one funny post! And congrats by the way, on, um, whatever you win.....
kirk to bridge- someone stop the tape.
what a sweet version and love that chuckle there
nice find. i'll take the whole show please
So, yesterday, three times through the entire Brent catalog, today, first click...haha. No clues besides that from me today. This was a pretty easy one.
Have a grateful day!
Last one in on Sunday, First in on Monday, I know Sunday is right, and am pretty sure I nailed this as well.
No clues this early, although you shouldn't need any.
