Days Of Dead

"They Love Each Other, Cassidy, Tennessee Jed, Let It Grow>Don't Ease Me In"
Hint:
A classic first set closing sequence with some a mix of Grateful Dead originals, songs from band members' solo albums, and an old traditional they'd been playing since 1965

Dayton, OH, Hara Arena
It's always interesting to see where/when songs came from in any given sequence, with these five songs coming from 1973, 1972, 1971, 1973, and 1965

    2nd song in Set 1

Bobby lied – they never worked that tune out (only time played by my records). Let me know if I'm wrong.

what you are and what you're meant to be

knew it when I heard Brent's solo in TLEO that I'd landed at the (w)right place. what a generous offering! Thank you Dave & Co!

I am trying to change the cover art of the 30 Days tunes, but cannot erase the artwork that is from 2021 I think.

How do I change this to the current artwork ?

Was having trouble AGAIN trying to leave a comment and was getting the embed error message. So I messed with my wording and narrowed down the problem. HAH! It wouldn't let me type the name of a hallowed concert hall. I tried spacing out the word when I typed it and it finally worked! See my next comment. Of all names to trigger an error! Crazy!

Perhaps my best Thanksgiving ever. It was the day before my birthday. Walked into W i n t e r l a n d at 20, and left the next morning having turned 21. Uncle Bill served us all a Thanksgiving feast, full turkey dinner on banquet tables with white tablecloths.
OH my, and then there was the music! The Band of course!...and Muddy Waters(!), Dylan, Clapton, Van the man, Dr. John, Neil, Joni, SO many more! What a 21st birthday that was…and what a once-in-a-lifetime Thanksgiving!

Oh, and thanks Dave for today's feast of tunes once AGAIN!!

I've heard these kind of stories about champagne or breakfast but Thanksgiving dinner is very cool!

I came along just a few years later but that kind of thing was over by then.

Actually 90s.man, there are 14 points on the bolt in the cover art this year, which is traditionally not correct. It should be 13. That's what I was leading you to.

Just wondering? Why are most of the shows from the East Coast or Midwest?ONLY 2 western shows....were Jerry actually came from?Just wondering?Someone wants Pig Pen,and others want west coast picks?Hard to satisfy all,I know? But what is up with that?We are still Grateful, but would be nice to mix in some of the MANY shows from over here.....Thanks Dave for all the effort anyway!!!!!

...is because the Dead -- and the Deadheads -- tended to really rock out on the East Coast -- especially the Mid-Atlantic. I never went to a mediocre show in Hampton or Richmond or Merriweather.

Admittedly I did end up going to shows where cowboy cops on horseback arrested hundreds of Heads while their fellow Deadheads busted the doors down on the theory that you can't close the door when the walls cave in...And I saw at least 2 shows (Hampton and DAR Hall) where the crowd "unarrested" a fellow Deadhead (I may have had something to do with that in Hampton) who had fallen into the porcine clutches of the local authorities. But that just made it all the more interesting and exciting!

one of my top tours was spring 1991. so much power, so intense.
thanks dave for yesterday
how did y’all find a first set grouping so unique when these songs were all in regular rotation then. was suprised when i put all 5 into stats and saw the number of choices…lol

so you actually fulfilled 2 of my requests back to back.
the 1991 spring tour and today which is pretty close to my next request in time just a few shows.
My first ever cassette was a crispy show from near today that i played over and over and over.
Was my first exposure to really diving deep.
Such a wonderful holiday present thanks dave…beats any turkey hands down
