This is the famous banned Warner Brothers poster. Apparently when the suits saw that Jerry was holding a joint, they ordered its destruction. Only a few survived, and I'm fortunate enough to have a nice unfolded copy that had previously been displayed at Best Comics in Fisherman's Wharf, SF. Comparing the poster to the album cover, I like how Kelley has replaced the title "American Beauty" with "Grateful Dead", and augmented it with a picture of the band hanging out at what I believe was Mickey's ranch. Classic album, classic poster!
