Hey=I custom made that jacket MH is wearing in this picture. It has Hopi "Yays" on it- How funny to find it here. Just stumbled onto it-Gans-long time no see-ok-now back to work 4 me.......xoxoxo the Gypsy Cowgirl
There were two US Festival years 82 and 83 (or 81?) and Bill Graham was in top form. Not only did he let Woz pay to play (which was a very cool gesture) he put it together in the middle of nowhere quickly. Egos flew. At one point BG put Elliot Robert's new mercedes on a forklift and threatened to drop it off a cliff if he didn't get the Kinks on the stage before sundown one night....That was a crazy weekend, vary hot, and I actually missed the Dead second set...one of the two years. I was all access all weekend and I spent a lot of time back stage in an air conditioned bus with other numbed rodents ....that was the 80's, man. I worked for Avalon Attractions back then, but Bill Graham let us in since he was so far south...The line was drawn in San Bernadino or Fresno, back then. I became a real dead head later on, after Laguna Seca concerts hit my home town Monterey in 87.

Nice jacket.
"What a place to see the 'Woz'. I forgot he was one of the promoters for that festival. They shouldve called the 'Mac Fest'
The sky was yellow the sun was blue".

it was
two years before the Mac! The machines there were Apple IIs. I don't think even the Lisa was out yet.
Wow - I remember those shows - but not the Dead
