    Walton tweeked those drumz!
We caught Bill early on in the night and honked him! Did you catch him banging on the drums during Golden Road? He don't want to work, he just want to bang on the drum all night! Tweek-tweek Bill!

    Spectacular
Words cannot describe these 2 shows. I never could get into DSO too much but man oh man JK brings a new energy to Bob and Phil. Not to mention JK ruled this New Years celebration. So many high lights WOW! But of all the moments of those 2 glorious nights, So Many Roads left not a dry eye in the house. I just wanted to run up there and hug him for that performance! Lets not forget the Ratdog and Dead superstar Chimenti but I was also blown away by Jay Lane and Joe Russo's drummin'. Man the possibilities for Furthur are endless in my opinion. Can't wait for the circus to hit Colorado!!!! If you are at all contemplating seeing this band just stop it and buy a ticket and go see them! Open your mind a little and you will not be disappointed. HAPPY NEW YEAR! WAY BACK WHEN IN 2010!
These are the good old days! I have tickets for both nights, and a room in Berkeley.Peggy-O? U.S. Blues? Blues for Allah? Throwing Stones? Forget the political crap, maybe there are some new Hunter songs (I miss the online 911 journal) or Billy or Mickey or some other surprise guests will be there. I'm up for it, although 3 sets on Thursday is a long, drawn-out show. Waiting for midnight--last year Wavy Gravy did the countdown and they had a giant turtle descend from the ceiling and the obligatory balloon storm. Oh well, at least it isn't all night till morning and 3 days instead of 2. Merry Christmas! I'm getting too old for this! Before I was too young. Now my mom says they're "Pied Pipers", same as she did in the '60's. Just like the "Beautiful People Letter" in Tom Wolfe's "Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test". She's the mother who Wavy Gravy says hits him on the head with her umbrella. Eric Abrahamson Yale University Class of '71 Pierson College P.O. Can't wait! Just hope someone remembers to turn on the heat in the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium this year!! The 12/30 show last year was the coldest Dead show I've ever been to; I had to wear my winter coat and hat all night long! On the road again...see you all there, my lovelies!

Crap????????? Don't you mean you're tired of the West Coast getting everything? Maybe I don't understand what you meant by that, please correct me if need be. I have quite a few DH friends here in the Bay Area that re-located here specifically to be close to the band, and therefore close to the shows. The band lives in the Bay Area, or at least most of them do so. They have traditionally played the majority of New Years Eve shows right here. I think one of the reasons the Dead played so many NYE shows here is that they enjoy being close to their families during the holidays. You may want to consider moving here Trevor, there's plenty of good schools in the area, and you can certainly find a position in your chosen field of endeavor here, it's crawling with restaurants in San Francisco. Come on out, I'll show ya around…

buddy, can I find a position in my chosen field? point me to the beach that is 80-85 degrees all year round for me to be a bum on and we'll move there!! ( -; just kidding. SF is by far one of the coolest cities on earth, definately in the top 10 in my book. peace.

A travel magazine announced that San Francisco was voted the top city to visit in the U.S. in the publication's annual survey of its readers, the 17th year in a row the city has won the category. The poll of more than 25,000 readers was done by Conde Nast Traveler, and San Francisco finished second only to Sydney, Australia, for the best cities to visit in the world.San Francisco topped the U.S. list, with Charleston, S.C., and Santa Fe, N.M. finishing second and third. Deadheads have known all about this for decades; and we enjoy the circus while it's in town... Next year we're going for the eighteen-peat :))

Jackie who... plays with Phil & Friends and has a real cool solo career going, very talented kid in my book. he got shows slated for the Great American Music Hall, now and wondering if them shows at the GAMH gonna get cancelled (like they was last year) and if Jackie will open for the 12/30 12/31 gigs at the Civic Center like he did last year. this kid can rock out. in Vegas last week he did a really cool acoustic set of a few of his tunes, personally I can't say enough good things about him. peace.

The Best place for New Year Eve is San Francisco. The show, the atmostphere and all of us friendly Californians. Lets face it...you can really party here and have a good time without any problems(usually) and the New Year shows are always amazing here. Just my opinion , but even when I didnt live here I would always travel for a show in the city. Gonna say to my sisters and brothers keep the faith

I am just curious, but does anyone know why Billy and Mickey are not in this? I am not complaining as I heard the SBDs of the Fox shows and there were some really good things going on. It just seems a little odd that the Core 4 would get back together this year and start touring again, only to dissolve (well, at least 50% dissolve) in a few months. I though that one of their many reasons for touring again was that they said that they had some "unfinished music to play" or something close to that effect. I like the idea of the whole crew being up on stage. The debates can go on regarding the quality of the Spring shows but the feeling was there. Again, I am not complaining, just posing a question and few opinions.Do or do not; there is no try.

How is John Kadlecik going to play with DSO in Baltimore on 12/30 and 12/31 AND play with Furthur in San Francisco on 12/30 & 12/31??? Am I missing something here and is DSO going to play WITHOUT John these two nights, or??? or is Jeff Matson playing with DSO instead of John? As much as I love Furthur (saw all three Oakland shows), DSO without John seems kindof unthinkable.. http://www.darkstarorchestra.net/NEWSITE/HTML/dso.php?sec=home

I would also like to know where the other 50% of the Dead are? The Dead kicked ass in May when I saw them and I was pumped by all of the talk that they were going to keep the vibe going. What happened to the new found energy and goodwill? There was even talk about new songs and an album in the works.
