Love how Jerry and Phil lock in during Keith’s solo, playing like one musician with four hands and two kinds of tones, perfectly united in mind.

Week of January 8-14, 2024

Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have Grateful Dead music from the 1980s, from 1984, 1985, and 1988.

Our first stop this week is on 4/1/84 in San Rafael at the tiny Marin Veterans Memorial Auditorium, with the end of the show, featuring Space> Morning Dew> I Need A Miracle> Goin' Down The Road Feeling Bad> Good Lovin', Touch Of Grey.

Next is the end of the second set from 4/4/85 in Providence, a classic 1985 first set sequence of Brother Esau ; Friend Of The Devil ; Lost Sailor > Saint Of Circumstance > Deal.

Lastly this week is the Easter Sunday show on 4/3/88 in Hartford, where we have the entire first set: Promised Land> Greatest Story Ever Told ; Althea ; Little Red Rooster ; Cold Rain & Snow ; Stuck Inside of Mobile With The Memphis Blues Again ; Box Of Rain ; Don't Ease Me In.

Be sure to join us here next week for more music from the vault.
