Grateful Dead

June 25 - July 1, 2012

Tapers Section By David LemieuxWeek of June 25-July 1, 2012

This week we have music from 1972, 1984, and 1985.

Our first stop this week is from 11/15/72 in Oklahoma City, we have a big batch of great Fall 1972 Grateful Dead music: Candyman, Big River, Sugaree, El Paso, Box Of Rain, Deal, Cumberland Blues, Around and Around, China Cat Sunflower>I Know You Rider.

Next up, from Nassau Coliseum on 4/30/84, we have the end of the first set, the intermission, then the start of the second set: My Brother Esau>Deal, I Need A Miracle>Bertha>Looks Like Rain.

Lastly this week, the entire first set from 11/7/85 in Rochester, NY: Dancing In The Street ; Dire Wolf ; C C Rider ; Loser ; Mama Tried > Mexicali Blues ; Cumberland Blues ; Beat It On Down The Line ; Deal. That was a mighty fine tour, with plenty of good, high-energy shows.

Join us next week for more tunes from the vault.

Fabulous Esau/Deal

84 had some excellent performances. This version of Esau has some different lyrics with a strong participation from the whole band. The Deal is very magical and I found I was humming it all day. THANKS

Meaty, Beaty, Big & Bouncy!

Thanks for the picks this week. Now, if we could only get full show mastered releases of these dates... But, I guess not and that is why we see them here.
