    Welcome back!

Whether you're new here or a longtime resident of Dead.net, you may want a bit of assistance getting your bearings.

In the navigation bar at the top of the page:

The Store is the place for official Grateful Dead merchandise. It's the place to order things, and also launching pad for a lot of lively discussion, mostly in the thread for the most recent release.

Archive includes photos, artwork, memorabilia, etc. from the Grateful Dead's long history.

News is the place for announcements from Dead.net

Dead 101 has information about band and family members

Community is home to tape trading, tour tales, ticket exchange, numerous discussions and recommendations of everything from bands to books, and more.

But wait, where did that feature go?

Looking for Chat? Recent Posts?  You'll find them in a menu that appears if you hover your cursor over your avatar photo up there in the upper right.

    If you get confused...

Listen to the music play. But if that doesn't help in the moment, send a PM to marye and we'll do our best to assist. Thanks!

This is just horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ugly, clunky (even for an experienced net user) ugly...really sorry for all this negativity. I am NOT a person who is opposed to new things, but this new look is dreadful! And figuring it out will NOT attract new users, I am relatively sure!

Thanks Unkle Sam for the advice. Logging in to the site worked. Now my issue is that I aparently have to stay logged into the site at all times? I work in web security and I have a GIANT problem with this. Not to mention that anybody who has never been to the site or isn't a member is aparently not welcome because thay'll never be able to see the home page without "backdooring in." Doesn't sound very GD to me. Just an observation.

I've got to comment about this new web site. Who's idea was this? Gone is the nice warm and friendly feeling I got when I use to view these pages, now, it looks like everyother site. It is generic, plain, simple, nonfriendly and hard on these old eyes. Why would you do this? I'm all for progress, but when it goes against all that is good, well it's just wrong. I wouldn't have even known I was on the Grateful Dead's web site if it wasn't for the steelie under that god awful grateful logo lettering. Gone are the good old trippy letters that use to grace this page, the way it is set up, the topics are too many and too cluttered, very difficult to navigate or even find what you need, the boarders make my eyes twinge and if stared at long enough might cause convulsions :) I don't like the way the posts show up on the pages either, just my opinion but I liked the old site when it had planets on the home page and you navigated thru space, now that's what the dead were all about.

yeah, I too had this problem, followed your same steps, I serched on bing, then acessed the site through the search engine, which worked, then rebookmarked the site, all this after I logged in, once logged in, seems to work ok, hope this helps some, once you get to site thru search engine, log in, then rebookmark, worked for me.

Can't get to site through home page.
I can't seem to get to site either by typing www.dead.net into address bar or by clicking on bookmark. It prompts me to download a zip file which in turn puts me in loop back to the original download prompt. Was able to get to site by searching for dead net and going in through other pages on the site. Once on the site I can navigate fine. Tried replacing my bookmark once on the site. Still doesn't navigate to page and prompts me to download zip file again. Please help

Well, I guess I'm having trouble with it. I go to the edit link, but I just don't see an option that says USERNAME. I don't know. Thank you for the help though.

there should be an Edit tab. Click it and go to the relevant box, edit to what you'd like, and Save. That should do it. If you have trouble lemme know. You can also change your password.

Apparently you don't find it.
I asked the same thing, received a reply stating it wouldn't be long, "they're working on it" but it looks like it isn't going to happen.

How do I change my mailing address? There's nowhere in My Profile that has my current address, just email and password. Don't want to miss my Dave's Picks subscription.
Thank You!

Where can I find the place to input the shows that I attended?
Thank you.

Input tool for shows attended is under my account in the drop down menu on the top right of the screen. Make sure to post some highlights of your favorites around, maybe your top highlights so we can all check them out. Thanks. Jeff

-edit- Just checked, and the tool may not be functional at the moment.
-edit 2- Just checked again and the means to check a show as attended is on each show's dedicated page. You can click a show as attended there. Just enter the show date in the search bar on the top right. I hope this helps!
