    As you may have noticed, we've just implemented a much-requested chatroom. It is quite simple and has few fancy features, but for the moment we just want it to work!

     Anyway, have at it, and post your thoughts, feature requests, effusive thanks to the tech team, etc., right here. Thanks!

    i am in no way a tech wiz.but my brother IS,and my son is going that direction too.both of them have thaught me a basic rule when it comes down to work with comps.they are machines,and they wont do anything what was not put into their program to do!so my humble conclusion is:in this software there is a function,lets call it kick-machine,which to work must be turn ON,that leads me to the further idea that their must,no their HAS to be a function that is capable to turn OFF the kick-thing.its just incredible to imagine that you have software which you cannot controll,because ON/OFF are the basics of control.if i am wrong than you have a software which decides instead of the people who installed it.come on,mary,please tell me that this is not true. :-)(-:P.S.if it was a test run,than it is allready going on for months,and i just cant imagine that you have installed software which controls you instead of you controlling it.Please mary there is so much frustration,deception etc.being caused by this ONE malfunction...turn the button if you can........and have a nice weekend!!

    Jonathan says, oh, how we wish we could just disable the kick function, but it doesn't appear to be possible with the software in question. He also says that he's incorporated some fixes and is running a test version of the software on a test site and hopes to have some good news for us soon. Thanks, folks, we feel your pain and we want it to stop too.

    I wish they would fix it....
    Part of the fun is the spontaneity of the format. It's like when you're trying to get it on with yer old lady and somebody keeps knocking on the door. Or the dog keeps yapping away, or the phone keeps ringing. All those distractions take away from the experience. The getting kicked out issue is becoming too much of a distraction. Please don't take this as a complaint, I just want to chat with a few buds, and have some fun. Thank you for having a great site for us DH's to hang out and have a bit of community, in that great big old place Mr. Barlow calls cyber-space. Peas and hominy, Bud Plant

    Please just switch off the kicking programme
    Can I repeat my request :-) it does no good at all so why not just switch it off, let us self police while the bugs are fixed off line and reinstall it when it works and if needed. Pleeeeease. A lot of us sad lonely folk who seek refuge there are being pushed further to the edge or madness!

    please do not take my postings the wrong way i an not mad . life just gets a little agravating sometimes. getting the boot, well i know everyone has this issue, getting booted so fast like that is just agravating thats all. we all just need someone to talk to sometimes. hope the chat room can be repaired soon.. peace ...

Been booted 6 times in 60 seconds !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! can`t even stay in long enough to see who is in there .... Maybe is should just be totally removed .... it`s like putting a big fat joint in front of you and telling you not to smoke that thing !!! Chat room blues for sure !!!! love that post Hal !! those of you who mailed in for tickets: did you have any 3x5 index cards lying around? I believe the last time i used index cards was 1995 for the last GD tour. Anyway, I went out to buy some, and they were displayed next to the carbon paper, naturally. Regardless, I hope I get tix and wish I could find out what happens if we don't, regarding the M.O.s sent.

I've tried a couple of times to upload artwork on the 50th anniversary audio submissions section and it gives me the following error: The uploaded file was unable to be saved. The destination directory does not exist. Thoughts? Mike

the tech folks spent a lot of time on this to make sure it worked right. So far it seems to be pretty stable, which is a big plus!

I've been on a 4 weeks holiday, and when I came back I found out that I fortunately still could download all the 30 DoD songs from this year that were posted after I went on a holiday.Can anyone tell me if there is a list somewhere with info about the venues and dates of this years 30 DoD tracks? http://www.dead.net/show/july-4-1987 & Bob Dylan I know the setlist mentions his last name as having helped with the sound check, as well as his singular voice when he starts singing, but I think that “Guest Vocalist” or “Guest Appearance”, or some such statement at the first of the “Notes” section would be much more helpful than making us deduce for ourselves his presence. Not to mention the absolute absence of his first name. We wouldn't want anyone to assume y'all are trying to make us believe Dylan Ryder sat in with The band (Dylan Thomas (though I guess he could have 'attended' had his casket been exhumed)). Sorry. The places my mind goes...

Been digging through Archive.org and saw a show I remember from the good ol' days of cassettes. October 10, 1982 Frost Amphitheatre show. A lot of good songs on there well performed. Might make for a good official release from Dave?
To that end, how about more shows from the 1980s. Love the 70s picks, but I cut my teeth on mid to late 80s dead and would love to hear some crispy 1980s shows...
