....from North Carolina and I am definately a Deadhead. My first show was in 79' at my hometown of Charlotte. I am a drummer and played for many outfits over the years. My latest gig was a series of shows with Tom Constanten in Florida, Arizona and Las Vegas. We had a lot of fun. I was fortunate enough to see hundreds of shows and I considerate it to be a major influence in my life. My favorite window for the Dead is the 79' - 81' with 82' - 83 right behind. I am definately a Brent guy. Allright. Everybody enjoy this site. It seems to be very cool. A great way for us to share our experiences. Dougles

Were you a student at that time? I live there now going to OU. I 'm Joe by the way from Athens OH and I never saw the Grateful Dead together unfortunately too young but I say Phil and Friends once and Ratdog a couple of times. Love the Dead and listening to the many recordings I have of them. My dead mentor was Pepe don't know if any of you know him he was a Head since his first concert 10/31/71 Columbus. Love to talk dead and hopefully we can get those good conversations we were having at the forum.

Gypsy, et al. and I also want to say hey now to all of the good people from the dead.net (old) forum... it is also nice to finally learn some details about the deadnetcentral folks, since I kind of jumped in there too around the same time I got into dead.net. the old dead.net forum was only up for what, 6 months? and plenty of cool people got into it and there were plenty of good things happening. nice to see people back here. Oroboros, in his infinite wisdom likened the old board to the 'acid tests' and perhaps this new board will get into being some fairly structured shows with 'sets' so long as we keep having a drumz space jam I'll keep the smile on my face. ( -: peace.

Olah mi Amigos!! Been listening to the sounds of the GD since 1973. I am still amazed and fascinated at how it never gets old. What a Long Strange Trip it's Been!! SWEET!!!

OK, I already introduced myself and all, but I wanted to say "Hey Now!" to all of you that I recognize from the "old" (can it be called old? it was just last week) board: Gray (grey?) Folded, CCJ, tonyL, crazyfingers, leadbelly27, oroboros...uh...jeez...i know I just forgot some of you....I guess you know who you are, now someone tell me, who am I.... gypsy: I know how you feel. Today is the 14th anniversary of my very last GD show, ever. I haven't seen any of them since. D'oh!

Hi there! I was one of the little kids running around in the scene in the '70's. I grew up in San Francisco. My dad is a violinist, and he played with The Dead, and hundreds of other famous musicians. Close to the scene, I grew up in dead mayhem! My first show was 12-27-83 at the SF Civic. I was backstage with my friend Ben, whose mother had introduced Jerry to Mtn. Girl. I remember that he went and played video games in the kids area (Tempest was all the rage!). When Jerry broke into Cold Rain, I remember saying "Hey, the showis starting". My friend (Ben) said "I see these guys 50 times a year. Go out and have some fun."I remember hooking up with a group of heads from Boston. I could not believe that they came all that way to see the band that I had grew up with as a staple in my life. It was that moment that I understood the national/global draw that they had. I watched the show with that group, and one of them said "If you go backstage now, you can meet the band coming off stage." I ran down, and I saw Bobby and Jerry in the long white hallway. Jerry ducked out into his red Pickup truck, but I caught Bobby. I said "Nice show, Bobby". He ruffled my hair and said "Thanks, kid." I was hooked! Being 12 at the time, it took me a couple of years to get on tour.But by '86, I was on the bus. 339 shows later, I ended my twelve year oddessy with the Dead in Feb. 1995. I have no regrets! I was a major tour member from 1987-1995. Then, I went to Israel and found some roots in my life other than Gdead. Life has been up and down since then, but the music lives with me! I now live in Philly, and have three beautiful children. I am looking forward to many more years of Laughter, love and music. Rock on Dead.net!
