    Alpine ‘89 audio and video.

Completed Fillmore East ‘70, including previously released material from Bear’s Choice, Dick’s Picks 4, and Road Trips Vol 3 No 3. Throw is some NRPS from these shows.

Let's do it. Let's outdo both the Europe '72 and 30 Trips box sets in one fell swoop. I'm calling for a 35 shows. Are there 35 left?

I agree 100%. I am among the many who became a Deadhead in '85. I have heard various arguments why there are only 2 shows officially released from that year, most often citing Garcia's lack of vocal strength, But there were so many great shows that year and tremendous playing from Garcia. Summer '85 certainly deserves a box drawn from maybe 6-8 select shows. Individually, I would like to see the Nassau 3/28/85 show released, because it was nuts. If Scarlet-Fire is your jam, 1985 had some epic versions. 1989-90 had a lot of great shows, but we have 2 big box sets and numerous CD and DVD releases. 1980-1985 is woefully under-represented. It's getting personal!

Autumn 77 Box to complement the Spring 77 box.

28/9 and 29/9 need an upgrade and the latter is a favourite. 1/10 is Ok and 2/10 is seriously great, we already have good sounding boards but that doesn't seem to stand in the way of official releases selling out.

2/10 could be my favourite show, not so much for any individual song (except for the Truckin jam which is one of my favourite few minutes of GD of all time) but just a complete package of smooth but powerful 77.

    Madison Square Garden September 1979 3 Night-Run in N.Y.C.!

This would be a great release which could even be joined with other Fall 79 shows. It was a 3 night run at M.S.G.. Brent was still relatively new and these would be his N.Y.C. debut shows. Brent hits the Big Time!! . . . and almost on Broadway!!! While they are not 1980s shows, they are close enough. Brent & The 80s are a period and keyboardist the fans are clamouring for -- this N.Y.C. MSG run fits the bill. They are historic shows. The energy was high on both sides of the stage. The crowd supplied loud over the top New York City energy which the band fed on and returned tenfold. There was that motorcycle belonging to Steve Parish parked on stage one night and you can hear some merry pranksters revving the engine during drums>space. This one would sell out quickly. Think about it . . ..

Likewise Alaska 1980 would be great too. Perhaps the Go to Nassau shows as a mini box? Or alternatively, a Spring 1980? Melk Weg? Europe 1990?

    ARK or Avalon Ballroom 1969

I've seen several comments with regard to releasing the April 21,22,23 dates from the ARK as a box set. But I'd be equally happy if the Avalon Ballroom dates were released as a box. It looks like the tapes of some of the Avalon dates are incomplete but the Dead were there for 3 days each in January & April and the quality of those shows was such that The Eleven & Lovelight were part of the Live/Dead release, so combining the January/April dates would be an idea.

It's think it's time (especially 50 years later) to put out another primal Dead box set as a companion piece to the Fillmore West shows. And since I think it'd sell out quickly it would also be a candidate for an AllMusic issue in addition to the limited versions.

Bundle together all the shows where a particular person/band joined in.

This is mainly an attempt to get the GD/ABB stuff released, which would probably need to span a couple of Box Sets.

But, a GD/Dylan Box would be cool too, as well as all the Santana appearances together.

How about a mini box set of the 3 shows in Ventura, California in 1987. People are always complaining that you don't do enough of the 80's shows. It would make them happy. They were 3 great shows! Jerry was recovering from almost dying, and he was hot! The 3 Ventura shows from 1987 would make a great mini box set!

This may be the dumbest request for a box set since so many SB's are out there. How about the 1985 Summer tour? My tapes are dying and this stuff turned me on to the modern Dead!

Can we discuss some sort of ‘81 Europe box set or releases? Some real gems in there and ‘81 is soooooo underrated!

How about a 1974 Wall of sound box set.
Or an Alaska 1980 box.

A couple days ago on Sirius TIGDH David Lemieux played some tunes from the 7-1-1973 Universal Amphitheater show. I was fortunate to see 2 of 3 of this 3-night run 6-29, 6-30, 7-1-1973 and was wondering if it could possibly be considered for a future small box release. The venue was brand new and still a virgin open-air outdoor amphitheater was since converted to an indoor venue. The GD was THE very first act to play there that weekend and covered a lot of the newer & as-yet unreleased material. Frank Sinatra was the "Official" first artist doing a week of shows a few days later but the Dead had already christened it in a spectacular way.
This was a short notice ticket sale event that as I recall was only listed locally 2 or 3 weeks before. I went to the box office on day of Saturday show and scored 2 front row seats on piano side of the stage with a great view of Garcia & Weir and some great interplay.
Should definitely be given a listen.

End 2023 with Watkins Glen release.

2024 box set: 1974

2025 box set: MASSIVE 1985, and give us working class folk enough notice to pull the money together for it, thanks in advance.

As always a crispy Summer 82' box set someday.

The end of the Summer Tour in '91 was hot, hot, hot! So how about a box with the DVD/Blu-Ray of the 6/22/91 Chicago show, boxed up with the following three shows--6/24 & 6/25/91 (Sandstone--both shows have been played on SiriusXM) and 6/28/91 (Mile High--which was on a GD Hour)?

The three shows at the Richfield Coliseum (9/4-6/91) to kick off the Fall Tour were pretty dang hot as well . . .

Thanks for your consideration!

Especially for the later years, but you could even be more creative for lesser tapped years like 68 or 86.

it seems to work for the CDs why not try it with vinyl? The pressing plants backlog has gotten way better why not offer 4 box sets a year (just an idea could be more/less) This would be way cooler than just something else for Record store day. Made to order type deal...this way the fans get what we want and no worries about investing in 10000 box sets that may not sell out. Id be all about it...anyone else?

With next year being the 50th anniversary of 1974 why not release the 2005 Grateful Dead Movie 5 cd Soundtrack as a vinyl box set? I’d also love to see the Ladies and Gentleman the Grateful Dead 4 cd box set come out on vinyl. Both would be big vinyl box sets but I’d dish out the cash for it. Both come from 16 track recordings and would sound excellent on vinyl and look great next to my other GD box sets

June/July 1985.

Dave was quite enthusiastic about summer 85 in his office chat, yet picked Frost for DaP49.
So hopefully he’s saving the summer shows for a Box.
6-27,28,30
7-1,2,13,14
Maybe a few more since some of them will fit on 2 CD’s.

for a total 4 shows in the box, by adding of any of these 2 (oakland, atlanta, springfield)
would leave us with nothing left to do but SMILE

I think the Tower Theater shows from Upper Darby, PA in June of 1976 would make a killer box set! Whether it’s a box set or a Dave’s picks or whatever, I think they deserve an official GD release! Thanks!

Hey rockers!!!!

Next box? Early 1969. From the OSF reels. Will include Vegas from March and the Avalon run from early April. Unless they want to hold Vegas for single release and include the Ark shows instead. Or maybe the February Philly shows? Heck, make it a mega mega box!!!!!

I have no definite talent or trade, and how I stay alive is largely a matter of magic......

Doc
You must learn to be still in the midst of activity and to be vibrantly alive in repose......

That's it exactly Doc. Just whats needed for a 69 box, after the FW supernova, shows you note, Avalon, Ark, et al first half of the year represent the mature, fully flowered primal phase. Fortunate to have some as downloads, audio issues would resolve with a most welcome update by Norman and crew. Time to revisit FW early June series, been a while.
