Our friends the Rhinos have various and sundry new releases in the development process, but they're always interested in hearing what you'd like to see hit the virtual shelves of the Store. No promises, but you never know...

This topic is for requesting new individual shows. There are also topics for box sets and DVDs.

If you've already requested something in the previous Requests topic, you don't really need to request it again, but hey, if you just can't help yourself...

    Individual shows for release

Gosh, I have quite a few. 2/17/79 Kieth & Donna's last show, great from start to finish. 7/13/76 great Orpheum show. 12/28/83 killer show at the S.F. Civic. 4/28/85 Frost a real knockout. Last but not least my first, 6/17/75 please try and find it. Sorry for being so long winded. Thank You for all the fantastic shows you guys put out.

It's always been a mystery to me why this show has never seen an official release. Nine out of ten heads agree that this and Hollywood Palladium (unfortunately released in two separate dribs with the drabs never released) were the top shows in that great summer tour.

Oct 31, 1971 Ohio theater - Dicks Picks 2 -- release the complete show.
Release the complete shows from Dicks 12 as well!

Otherwise, how about Hollywood Palladium 8/6/71? or Mershon Auditorium, Columbus Ohio 1976?

There exists a fine Betty Board of this show, and the China Cat Sunflower > I Know You Rider has already been remastered for the Long Strange Trip soundtrack. It's a fine 21-song show held to 300 villagers in the French countryside. Plus, there is a very solid quality video to go along with it. At the very least, the best of the show could be snuck onto a bonus disc! I mean, it is a great show altogether, but I'd be satisfied w/ the hits being remastered. Plus, it is one of the last shows with the original 5, of course after Mickey left and before Keith joined.

The most recent Dave's is from Dekalb '77. There have been pristine SBD's of this show floating around for decades and it was heavily traded when I followed in the 80's-90's. Why does GDM keep releasing shows many long term heads already have in fantastic sounding quality? It's not too hard to find this show or Cornell.

    More 80s shows!

How about the 10-10-82 Frost Amphitheater show? Also 4-4-85 from Providence is a spectacular show.

I just came across Jan 8…

I just came across Jan 8 1979 at MSG, and what a great show! Solid performance, tight vocals, high energy, great setlist!
I would love to hear a board mix of this show all cleaned up and mastered.

    10-31-1991 , how bout it ?

Since it's Halloween... I starting thinking ... Why have not they released the GD 10-31-1991? Let me be a devil's advocate , maybe it has to do with mechanical royalties to all the guys sitting in with GD, or Kesey's estate wants some kind of big money for his poem rap during Dark Star? Let's hope not, if they can settle the film rights for Sunshine Daydream , they can handle this release too. Let's face it, post 90s GD releases are not getting released for lots of reasons but they are some great performances. This show is one of them... I remember when it happened everyone's jaw hit the floor and the soundboards were out there ... Frank Zappa just released a run from his vault from Halloween 73 even with some collector swag material ... why not the same from GD ... I don't think post production would be too expensive since I don't think these shows were multi tracked per se ... the soundboards already sound pretty good better than Dave's Picks March 24th 73 in my opinion... price it for 50 bucks , put some posters and paraphernalia swag and you will have a seller ... and many happy collectors ... DO IT and slate it for a Halloween release date !!!

12-31-84 ---- Why is this show not released?

    12-31-84 .

31 Dave's Picks so far, and not a single Shakedown Street?

I am guessing the Series will end at Volume 36.

Yes, I know the song was released on its own on So Many Roads Boxed Set ... but does that make it ineligible for release? I wouldn't complain if it would be released as a complete show -- may be the best Shakedown Street EVER!!!

Is the Entire show available as a soundboard?

This show blew my mind away the other day... I think it's much better than the '81 and '83 releases in the series.
So much raw energy!! Love the Bucket -> Don't Ease

    So why not?

    1984-1985 is woefully underrepresented

I don't know if Dave Lemieux reads this, but this is going straight out to him: I am beginning to take this personally. I saw my first Dead show in Spring 1984. My peak years were 1984-1990. My favorite year was 1985. The best quality tapes that we had access to at school were '82-'85 shows. Many of us had outstanding shows from this era as staples in our collections. Garcia's lead vocals may be spottier in places, but that is more than made up for by fierce guitar playing. Kudos for the two '83 shows you've released recently in the Dave's Picks series, but there are several notable '84-'85 shows deserving release. These were important years for many of us Deadheads, and we saw some some killer shows. Please show us some love and stop acting as if this era never existed. Our experience was valid, and your virtually ignoring this period makes it seem like you are invalidating our memories. Thanks.

    P.S. Nassau 3/28/85 wouldn't be a bad place to start... ;-)

I’m thinking based on the clue offered for Dave’s 50, specifically the reference to “show (shows…?)” and the timing being right,… leads me to believe the show is the Watkins Glen summer jam and the bonus disc is the sound check. I did some quick math at archive.org and it looks like the show would fit on three discs with about 15 min to spare, and that the sound check would almost fit on one, with the need for last song on the other discs.

As is well known, there are Owsley tapes for both days and even though widely available (in so so quality) already, this show deserves the official release, plangent process and all. Here’s hoping I’m right on this guess.
