Cold rain and snow? Here comes sunshine?
What's Mother Nature up to at your house?
ditto Vermont
a gentle breeze blowing rippling pastels in the treetops
Ditto in Kansas : 74 and wonderful
You heard it here first: Red Rock openner >>>> Cold Rain & Snow
Watching the cars in front of me
Pinwheel down the road like carnival rides on the road to work this morning, hoping that I just hadn't had my ticket punched for a session of bumper cars! Not supposed to be like this in NC, at least not unless you're in the mountains. I moved from New England for this?
nice and clear here in Oakland
but cold. And two big storms coming in.
gratefaldean
Sounds like a typical commute for us! Fun isn't it? Although so far it has been way too mild. We need some snow!!!

Jackstraw, I'm way used to snow
Lived in Maine a good long while...I actually used to have fun, which is to say actually enjoy, driving on fresh snow as long as no one else was on the road.
It's this ice stuff that is more typical around here that gets scary, and the fact that the road crews aren't very well-prepared to handle it (a generous appraisal of their preparedness, I assure you).
Yesterday you just didn't know minute-to-minute if the road was ok or if it was a sheet of ice. And then there's the clueless drivers -- one truck blew by me going at least 80 mph, and a few miles later I was following traffic going 5-10 mph. Reasonable speed was somewhere in between.
Anyway, we'd be happy to send the snow and cold weather to CO where it belongs!
Cold & Snow
Got it up here in Ontario, Canada too. Beautiful snow, fluffy & flaky, just the way we like it. Already had a few good skates on the pond after the first snap and I'm looking forward to this lunar eclipse. Gonna go trudge through the woods in my woolens and breathe the good air. Happy Solstice!!!!
Snow in the UK?
I went up to Paddy O'Quigley's, the other day, for a pint and met up with a bloody British chap who said airport runways were shut down for the first time he can remember, at both major London airports. Is the rest of Europe experiencing an early winter too?
Y'all must be getting the snow that we're not getting here in Kansas City....
Wayne Shorter and Joe Zawinal
The nucleus of the late, great jazz fusion giants Weather Report.I'd be curious if any of the GD were fans.
I'm betting yes.
David Gans, Blair Jackson, do you know?
Was Weather Report Suite a reference to them?
Inquisitive minds would like to know.
Happy holidays.
this topic is actually about the weather, not the band
but I'll pass the question to Blair and David.
i don't know what ...
.is going on here.. first we had a late snow because it was to warm just a bunch of rain which pretty much hurts us here at the ski areas..then it gets cold snows the moutains make snow to get caught up temps drop down to about -6 f....then warms back up rains nearly washes out our road... temps drop back down lots of snow i get ready to go hit the slopes rains and now they are predicting temps in the high 40's next couple of days and snow over the weekend...just for reference we usually are in the single digits and below this time of year

Don't let it snow, no snow - OH NO!
Well, I made it throught the blizzard at Heathrow last week and said "That's it, no more traveling!" Yet here I am am at home in Vermont with a wicked Nor'easter dropping a full 12" or more and making life a little less delightful.
I think we can look forwad to more of the same all winter and in future winters. It''s a trend!
I used to love it more when I did outdoor winter sports (besides cleaning the car and driving to work!)
KC got blasted
Cold and dry just became cold and snowy: from Manhattan, KS to Columbia, MO, anywhere from 5" to 9" blanketed the ground. Shoveling the drive off took an hour, then the slow drive to work...whew, time for a nap... and a cookie!!
GASP!!!...Cooookie?
.....the weather here has been jumping 20 degrees back and forth for a coupla weeks. Supposed to be in the low 50's later this week, was in the low 30's yesterday, and it's actually NOT raining right now.....oooops...heavy mist..
We had a high of 68
We had a high of 68 yesterday and today we're enjoying a brick 28. Texas is a mess.
BRRRRRRRRRRR
Woke up to -16.... Bright side is the sun is out and the wind stopped...
gorgeous faux spring
in Oakland, which must be confusing those trees that haven't quite dropped their leaves yet. The dogs certainly did have the zoomies at the dogpark this morning.
30, something in salt lake city
I so can't wait to get back to the south east ..

Got nuthin' on us this winter. We are going through an old-fashioned winter with snow almost every day a cold slated -25 in mid VT.
Try North Dakota
It's only -15 on a daily basis up der. My ancestors from the 17th century are buried near Rutland: the rest of us moved west!!

s. oregon, clear skies and 65 degrees, a rare and different tune!, found a nice agate on the beach, saw four river otters swim by up the river, old dog happy, me too.

Hey......I'm not complaining...beer and cookies close by
Maybe it's the scales balancing for all the shows the east coast gets.......just joking, and I do feel for all those suffering the horrible weather....
I do kinda figure
that anyone with a roof over their heads and food in the fridge (if they HAVE a fridge) shouldn't complain about much.....I'm thankful to have what little I do...
New low temp records set in New England
-25 in my town, -35 in some places further North. Please, somebody give me a reason to go to the SE. Anybody from the Native American Church got a peyote ritual coming up?

Looking at Wednesday's sunrise right now
20, heavy, fog-like air and a beautiful orange ball to the east this morning.
noonie
North Carolina hasn't exactly been a joy this winter season (a white Christmas even!), especially if you are in the mountains (I'm not). But then again, I've got nothing to complain about when you stack it up against minus-anything F for a temperature. Stay warm, folks!
Thunderbolts and lightning
mixed in with the cold rain and snow. Yuck-o-rama!
Conversation is always more interesting than recitation, so speak your mind and not someone else's.
a chilly 46
In Dallas Texas this morning.
" Life is`nt about running from the storm, it`s about learning to dance in the rain "
Let's hope
That the storm front caused by the Europe '72 brouhaha subsides and we see calmer weather in these parts come next week.
Looks like high '50s and sunny for my part of NC this weekend, hoping that some of your snow gets to melt away, unkle sam. I work with a guy from Boone and they've had something like 19 snow days for school kids already this season. Not fun at all.
27 and falling
27 degrees and forecast for temps in the teens this afternoon, with snow, sleet, freezing rain all the good nasty stuff . Here in Huchins Tx.
I so can't wait for spring time !! Then summer, but then I will probably be saying that its too hot , lol . You all stay warm..
