    Bent vinyl
    Anyone else have receive their vinyl bent? Packaged with the CD and no cardboard to keep it rigid, so slightly taco shaped. :( Was hopeful it might just be cosmetic, but it won't play. Emailed customer service, so we'll see...

    I LOVE Anthem Of The Sun
    Such a fabulous album anyway, though if I had to be a critical of anything it would be that I wish it was more than JUST the picture-disc (usual-'71-mix) for vinyl releases. I would have loved a deluxe LP release of the 2 mixes and the Mickey show on vinyl that would be so great, even though I'm aware that would be probably a few discs. I hope picture discs don't become the norm. I know most people aren't big fans of playing or using picture discs beyond having the cool artwork on it to spin, I'm sure it sounds grand nonetheless. But I hope GD start really working on the Workingman's Dead/American Beauty 1970 50th Anniversaries, I want outtakes, I want the goods, maybe a choice historic Bear recorded show or two from that era and all sorts of photos of them becoming psychedelic cowboys and the context to which they altered their sound from what audiences hear on AoxomoxoA (1969) and then to Workingman's Dead (June 1970) and American Beauty (November 1970) and how brilliant of an artistic pivot that was as the shifted out from primal dead and into what they became sonically in the early 70s (particularly '71-72). Anyway I may buy this, but I probably wont I have an original pressing of Anthem and one of the white alternate album cover. It and the aforementioned albums and then Blues For Allah (1975) are arguably my favorite Grateful Dead studio releases. Though when you think about it they're all worthy of their merits. Much love, hope to see you all on the golden road! (~);}

    "I'm never buying again" is a perfect example of FZ's petulant frenzy. I'm petulant and having a frenzy. If you think for 1 minute they care if you buy anything from them again you have a seiously distorted view of your importance in the world. Oh and by the way 95 bucks or whatever it was this year ain't rich. Dave's is just 2 bucks a week. And if you want everything it's probably about 8 to 10 bucks a week. If you don't have the discipline to stash 2 bucks away it isn't their fault. My guess your complaint is just a new take on I want their business model to be what I want. Sorry dude the world doesn't work that way

    Never Ordering Again
    Love the band and did plenty of tours. Really PO'd when I went to order Dave's Picks within an hour of release a couple weeks ago and it was SOLD OUT. Nope not rich enough for the subscription. BIG believer in ordering official merchandise and supporting the artists but I think GDM got my last cent. A picture disc of regurgitated material brightens my eyes like bunk paper.

    It may sound silly to some, but for 20 bucks this album will be for the far out artwork, and photo on side b.For listening I’ll choose the hi-res flats. I think it includes ‘68, 71, and Mickeys first show. A picture disk of Oaxomoxao next?

    Do picture disc's sound good these days?
    I have avoided picture disc's as they used to sound awful - so which mix it is seems a bit immaterial me. How about a nice double vinyl release of both mixes and a double vinyl of the concert please?

    The 68 mix is available on vinyl as well. It was released in 2011 by rhino vinyl and is available through the dead.net store here. It also came with the vinyl box set of their first studio albums. Also still available here.

    Cool Disc
    It would have been cool if they chose to put the ‘’68 remaster on this vinyl. Isn’t that the most interesting mix nowadays? Dang, now I’m starting to sound like a complaining deadhead. I’ll probably get it just to trip out on the rotating Anthem artwork. But dang, it would have been cool to have the ‘68 mix on vinyl...
