This was my first time in 'deep waters'. Drove up from Bloom'ton with buds. The Dead played on a stage like we used to see when @ sock hops as a kid. Became xtremly dizzy & wended way to front of stage. Parked self directly in front Gerry. Stage hit me waist high. Pig was behind JG. Got my bearings by shows end. these guys were lugging their gear themselves. Walked over to Gerry, stuck out my open hand & said,' Mr. Garcia, your music sure makes a lot of sense to me' His jaw opened & shook his head & my hand. These were regular guys. What a night!
Grateful Dead Live at Memorial Union Ballroom, Purdue U. on 1969-04-18 - Grateful Dead
Hard To Handle, Morning Dew, Cryptical Envelopement-> Drums-> The Other One-> Cryptical Envelopement-> Sitting On Top Of The World-> I'm A King Bee, Doin' That Rag, Turn On Your Love Light, Cosmic Charlie, Beat It On Down The Line
This concert was incredible. Every hippie from Indiana was there and dressed like revolution had come to West Lafayette. The music filled the hall and the crowd swelled and vibrated with the sound. I still remember Turn on Your Love Light.
