there just wasnt nothin like those frosted freaks,,,, jeah great show, set list them boys were havin almost as fun as us!!!!as calos says WORLD PEACE IS POSSIBLE IN OUR LIFETIME!!
I remember going to this one with my roommate Tim from U.C. Santa Cruz. We drove up in my orange and white '74 VW bus. I'm pretty sure some other people came with us but but my memory is fading. I'd been seeing the Dead since '79 but I'm fairly certain that this was the first time I heard Phil sing (in person). I vaguely remember Jerry saying something pretty funny before they starting in on Tom Thumb's Blues (like "...I think we'll keep him"???) but, again, my memory is fading. If anyone can fill in the gaps here it would be most appreciated.
I remember the "Let Phil sing" chant, and Jerry saying,"We're going to hold on to him for awhile,he's ours".On my tape all I can here is "he's ours",and my memory is well....Great show at a great venue on great...
art This was also my sons first show.He was 4 years old. They tried to stop him at the gate for a ticket(which I didnt have),but he just ran right through! I met him inside at the food stand. Good Boy!

Location
4-27-85 Frost must be the show where the audience chanted "Let Phil sing!" until Phil obliged -- with a Dylan song I'd never heard, but there it was all the same. The audience gave a rousing cheer after each verse (less so as the song progressed); never was it so clear to me that this was "our" band.
Who'd have thought we had such influence over them? We should have shouted "Morning Dew!" more often ;-)
"It's always a nice day for a blessing"
