I'm not sure if it was this

I'm not sure if it was this night but one of these nights Bobby went to kick a ballon or beach ball near the front of the stage and slipped and fell on his ass with his legs dangling of the edge of the stage. But like a true professional he smiled and kept on playing for a while before standing up!

wrapping it up

The tour coming to a close and Jerry's voice is shot but this show still holds up pretty well song wise. The next night brings the tour to an end with bang and Spring 85 is in the books. Philly always a Dead stronghold and this run is no exception to anyone who had seen them play here over the years.

Spectrum Shows are Great!

This was the last set of shows I saw before I joined the Navy. Easter always seemed to bring out the best in the Dead.

I remember drinking and tripping and bouncing up and down so much that the crappy beer they were serving in the stadium came back up on me. I puked on my shoes and kept dancing.

Real short Half-step. I remember Bobby giving Jerry a double take. Stellar Birdsong - Jerry turned into the Wolf playing a sax. Pretty cool!

The rest of the show is a blur except for Smokestack! Just awesome!

I could swear they played "Gimme Some Lovin' that night. Oh well... not the first time confused about shows...

Peace!

Hot Show

Both sets were quite good, and the Dancin' was extra good as the most memorable part for me. The next night was really cool too.

solid finish

These shows got better and better each night. The first night they're kicking ass on Big River and the crowd responds with a huge roar. Big Rail Road Blues is always a crowd pleaser. I got to tape these nights. I had an American flag standing out on a wire from my mic stand. 4/7 was a short 1st set but solid. Only 45 min., even the C.C. Rider rocked. Phil was getting more comfortable at the mic. I have him listed as singing on, Why Dont We Do It in the Road, Mississippi1/2 Step, Dancin, Gimme Some Lovin and Truckin. Some one mentioned Bob goin down. Yea, the last night during Estimated he went on his ass. Im not sure if he was kicking a ballon or doing one of his backward hops.

4th show...

I was 15, up from Wilmington DE for this set of shows. I was a huge Beatles fan (still am) by then, so I was blown away by the opener -- so much fun. Great setlist for the whole show, really -- though I was already enough of a snob at that point to feel totally let down by the Day Job encore! ;)

It's not art if it's not rockin

Will showing us around his town during the day. South Street a blast w/ Harry's Occult shop and an antique /curio store w/ a real monkey's paw and skelton's of horned babies and such. An art gallery w/ lots of expensive circular glass objects de art that Will thinks should be in motion - hence my title. Show-wise, Beatles and Dylan covers are always a nice treat.
