I was at both shows and I definitely remember the driving all night from Veneta experience. There was a heaven-to-hell quality about that weekend: from sleeping under the stars in Veneta to holing up in some Holiday Inn or some such trying to get rested for the show. From the idyllic scene and perfect weather at the Country Fairgrounds to platoons of fairly hostile mounted police herding the Heads amid grey, overcast weather. I remember this as the only venue I ever attended where, per the language on the ticket, you couldn't even bring a purse into the hall.
Needless to say I really don't remember a darn thing about this show other than the attendant bad vibes. I think I drove straight through from Seattle to Oakland the next day just to get out of there.

No show in Seattle on
No show in Seattle on Saturday, 8/28/82. The one Seattle show was Sunday evening, 8/29/82. I don't know; maybe it was the roses!
Very true!
