Dark Star
Christopher Selden
The Dark Star is so awesome, while listening to it I get lost and forget what the song actually is. I could listen to this Dark Star over and over. Jerry is jamming with the rest of the boys so hard and then all of a sudden the five of the gents slow down and dive right into the second verse as though they had practiced this a trillion times. The rest of the show is not to shabby as well.
Locations
Okay, it was only my third show, but I knew this was out of the ordinary. (I've had various memories corroborated over the years . . . I still don't know if I trust my memory of this, but here's what I remember): during Around and Around, during the solo, Jerry moves to one side of the stage, Bob to the other. As they build to the big crashing chord, they take off running towards center stage and each other. As they near the middle, they both (Air Jerry!) execute Pete Townshend-style flying leaps . . . WTF!? I am not making this up.
I've only heard from one other person who was there. He remembered it differently. In his version, Jerry and Bob do Chuck Berry-style duckwalks across the stage. God, I miss the old days! Anyone else go to this show?
