...and it had to include an "I Bought the Slaw" encore? Sheesh, probably along with "Day Job" and "Long Way to Go Home" one of the only three Dead tunes I didn't like! How dare they not consult me before selecting the encore!
"I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy."
Missed the first half of the first set because my ride lagged. My first Help>Slip>Franklins!
It was a three day run, but I had a family back in Alaska and I had to fly back home on the 18th........
i had been in hawaii for awhile and came back for this run of shows.hadn't heard corrina yet but when bobby was singing it in this show,i could have sworn he was singing "rainbow" not 'corrina'!ha ha!after the show i was commenting to someone about bobby's new rainbow song and they didn't know what the heck i was talking about!this ended up being my last run of shows~thanks for the good times boys~
You know I was one of those backseat musicians and now I have to say we were spoiled rotten! Come on the Boys played what they felt and they could could feel a bunch of wishy washy part time heads :P Seriously though I had a great time and now regret putting so much into the details The Grateful Dead were my favorite cover band, place to be, and family [so quit bitch'n < I fought the law was likely the Dead addressing all the heads who had entitlement issues and were causing trouble>]
Love You All [even if your whiney]
I Fought the Law was a hit in 60-61 by the above band. Bobby Fuller was a gifted singer, songerwriter and guitarist, alot like Jerry. He was found dead in the backseat of his car under mysterious circumstances in the early 60's. IMHO I thought this tune was a great little lost gem that the dead had brought back from oblivion. It sure struck a nerve in Orlando in 94 when they played it for an encore, especially after some local assh%$@s broke down the side door and got us all gassed. I think Vince liked this song and allways played it very well, along with Way to go Home, another song Vince sang, both excelent additions to the dead catalog. When I first heard these tunes, I thought it was cool that the dead had a few new tunes, brought in by Vince. RIP Vinny, we love you. ps check out tapers section this week (9-7) and hear Vinces' first shows. It's all good.
