This was my first experience with the Grateful Dead Live, and I must say it stole my face right off my head! This show was on fire! The band was on it and I never looked back! Many shows later I wish I could still see them, maybe in the next tape loop...
One Grateful Dude
Scored Forum Club VIP ticks for this show had just dosed maybe
haf hr. before I entered the club and headed for the bar,sat
myself down around the bar slammed my 1st and 2nd drinks
and then really started to come on to my doses., looked up
and across the bar and lo and behold grinning maniacallly
and rite at me was none other than Timothy Leary!! I caught
his eye and it freaked me out. I turned away to the bartender
ordered another drink, slammed that ,again looked up and
there he was again, got up and out of there and into the venue.
Trying to rationalize in my mind what just occured. Then the
show started then toward the end of the 1st set there was Leary
on stage dancing around . while a couple band members
looked over to chck him out! It was a trip!!! I cant remember how
long he was up there the remainder of the set. But it was a
treat, one that I will never forget!
My friend and I cut in front of everyobdy...i ran like hell and was the first 1 front row...once you were there it wa shard to leave....remember calling out crazy fingers and Jerry playing it..and i realized i could ask for requests if close enough lol! GOOG THING I TALK/SHOUT LOUD......
Location
The gal I was with at the time and myself were sitting in the terrace section close to Brent so that when the band came on stage we could tell they were egging him on to play. When he ripped into a little light, you could feel the energy in that place lift. I remember Jerry's wah sound of that tune echo all over the arena...Miss you guys!
