    Skepticism RE: Date
I found an advertisement for this show via Google search. The advertisement clearly states the shows took place on Sunday, March 22 and Sunday, March 23. There is a SBD recording that circulates for one of the shows. While the March 24 date is clearly incorrect, I cannot guess if the recording is from the March 22 or March 23 date. The "New Society Band" opened at 8:00pm, Grateful Dead at 9:30. Overall a nice performance. Tasty but short "Dark Star" (13:50), and an even shorter "The Other One" (5:04). However, the recording may have truncated the end of "The Other One". Pig Pen in fine fettle on "Good Lovin'" (11:24) and "Lovelight" (14:31). Solid performances of "Morning Dew", "Cold Rain & Snow", "High Time" and "St. Stephen" make this show worth a listen.

    Miami Deadhead circa 1970
This was my first show. I was 16 years old and already a confirmed Deadhead! I had been listening to my older brother's records for several years. Pirates World was a theme park with a roller coaster and other "thrill rides". The concert ticket allowed the holder to enjoy the rides before the show. The music concerts were held in a pavilion adjacent to the amusement park. The concert venue was really just an open air shed... a corrugated aluminum roof, concrete slab floor and no walls. The seating was folding chairs and wooden bleachers. It was somewhat reminiscent of a huge circus tent! I don't remember a lot of the content of the show... it was a long time ago, with many other shows between then and now. But, I do remember that Pigpen was in fine form and delivered a blistering "Lovelight". If memory serves... I think that the GD played two nights in a row at Pirates World that tour. I went the first night, and my brother and his college friends went the second night. It would make sense, back then bands didn't like to make the long road trip down the entire peninsula of Florida to Miami to play just one show. I would appreciate any other Miami Deadheads' recollection of a two night stand at Pirates World that tour.

First of all I think this is the wrong date. (Anybody??) I always thought it was 3/24/70. Secondly if anyone has a copy of this show, listen to the great Lovelight>Uncle. It comes from nowhere!! And unlike the deadbase, or taping compendium, it is not Lovelight, Uncle. Any comments on this interesting show?? Tim

I think you may be right on the date. Internet Music Archives list this show as being 3/24/70. They have a copy that is currently streaming. This was a great one set show.

As a side not my friend spaceman from Florida claims to have been at this show and said spoke of heads taking full advantage of the rides while being very high.

I'd like to be able to find a download for this show. I know that there's the streaming on the archives but I'd like something to put onto a hard copy.
