In My Living Room!

My 1st Dead show was Englishtown, 1977. This was my second, and it was in my living room, The Rectum, as many of us Philly folk called it. I was there for many milestones for the Flyers, including the win over the Russian team, and the Stanley Cup win over the Bruins. My first concert was here, Stevie Wonder, Jim Croce, The O Jays and the Raspberries. I was a regular attendee for several Alice Cooper, Yes, and Bruce Springsteen shows. But now, my new passion was being satisfied, with a four square of Mr. Natural in my head and friends all around, the boys (and Donna Jean) were in my town. And they were every bit as good as I could have expected. Still haven't gotten a tape of this show, but it does play in my head on special occasions.

My first Dead Show. I did not know what to expect but it was fantastic. I was 16 years old and with my buds and the show openned with my favorite song. The band was smokin and I found out what music could really do.And it only got better from there. Waiting for this show to be released.I would be first in line, as i usually was for Dead tickets.

Merry Pranksters

Also my first show, with seats on the floor. Ah, the Rectum - where else do you have to go down stairs to go to the bathroom (except CBGB)? Does anyone remember a large Merry Pranksters banner hanging from the upper section almost directly opposite the stage?

Ahh my first show also. I

Ahh my first show also. I think our tickets were nose bleed section so we sat behind the stage. Very interesting viewpoint and what a show! I was barely 17, had been to only a few concerts but now the bar was set and no one else could measure up!!

Was my first time also!! I was just 15

An older friend of my sisters had turned me on to them only about three weeks B4 the show. We went by chance with out tickets, and were hoping to find some there! needless to say we scored big time!! stood in an opening directly across from the stage with my mind floating on Jerry's Trills from his awesome guitar work. And " The Rest Is History".!!!! Every Time I hear certain licks in a Dead song It takes me back to that first Night!!! " Back in Terrapin For Good or Ill Again "

"One Man Gathers What Another Man Spills"

My First Show

Drove down to Philly with Two-Bit that rainy night. The windows were melting as we hit the Spectrum parking lot. Thankfully I wasn't driving. It was a night that will live as the gateway to the golden road.
Some of my deadhead friends dont give this night much respect, but to me it rules

was this the show the LL fans sat thru a Terrapin flourish?
