    most fun ever!
art saysI had as much fun at this show as I had at any Dead show.I treasure this tape, but wonder if there are any soundboards out there. All of the audience tapes I made at the Greek are mediocre, they have a "bowl" like sound to them.I spent the first set up top with the dancing angels, then I heard the strains of my first ever,in person,"Help On the Way",and I headed for the floor."Drums",with Flora and Airto was like a rhythm orchestra from the amazon, and "space"nearly killed me.It was also my first Throwing Stones,Not Fade Away combo, with the audience chanting and clapping as we all grew so accustomed to (and maybe a little tired of) in the following years. Also:one of the best and most passionately sung Stella Blues I've ever heard. And the "Truckin'" jam...I could go on and on about this show.Anyone have a soundboard?

    Miracle Show!
Livin' in Casper on the Mendocino coast growin'. Had a ticket but no wheels. Was all the way up in Garberville visiting my girl Purple. Made a decision at noon to go and stuck my thumb out on the 101S. A pickup stopped full of deadheads in tie-dyes, somebody laid a big ol' Amanita on me, ate it up. Remember pullin' into Berkeley an hour before the show and lazy dreamin/trippin'. Don't recall to this day how I got back home....

    Favorite show as well!
St. Stephen59 Just a great day at the Greek. Went up top to the little grass area and it was just a twirling blur. Great view of the Golden Gate and the bay amongst the throng. I'll upload some pictures some time soon.

Totally Commited By This Point. Great Set of songs, but the best part was the guest stars for Drums/Space (Airto and Flora Purim) and Not Fade Away (John Cippolina). Also these shows had the most amazing backdrop I have ever seen at any show, the Cortney Tie-Dye behind the band was a diamond design, I have seen pictures of these dates in some of the calendars. After one of the 20th anniversary shows in '85 I saw a guy selling what I thought at the time was a color yourself picture of the band, but it turned out to be a blow up photo of the Not Fade Away from this show, Great Shot, Bob has his arm raised to make the point, Jerry and John are totally immersed in the chords, Bill and Mickey are watching the rest for the cues, Phil is Rockin' Brent is watching for the cue, and the sea of microphones is covering the entire bottom of the shot. One of my prized momentos of my Dead Life. Also the tour shirt for this set of shows was a Dead Set, a sun with the Lightning Bolt going into the water, I tye-dyed this shirt for my first NYE shows that year, however I was a virgin dyer and used Rit Dye but the effect of Orange/Blue on the Coat, Pants and Shoes was very satisfying, I prefer to dye only large pieces of fabric nowadays. The Sky Was Yellow And The Sun Was Blue People Stopping Strangers Just To Shake Their Hand.
