One of the BEST SHOWS I ever seen
Not a bad start at all. Glad the roof didn't cave in until a couple of years later...
on that hot spring tour through the NE. Only they could be laid back and fever pitched at the same time and this was a great one! Well worth the hitchhikers blues and the blue light dodge. Steering column was broke and it took an hour to get around the rotary...but we made it!

My first Estimated and first Terrapin. I remember my friends had told me about a couple of new songs: California & Inspiration! They (we) didn't know the names of the songs yet :). I remember in was my future sister in-law's first show.
This show will be released officially on April 7th, 2009 in it's entirety, and it's well worth it!
I followed the gang around the east coast on this tour. Lots of colleges, then went to this show. Took a friend from Sweden and it changed his life. Or perhaps that was the dosing. Still like Hartford Dillon stadium 74? better with the three sets!
PS i have two shorline tix available for the 10th. see Portland CL
My first show (gee, why did I wait so long!). A simply perfect day outside (I recall the was the New England Fiddle Festival {or something along those lines}, and little did I know what awaited my ears, mind, and body when the GD started to play. My pal Phil got so drunk, that he passed out during 3rd or 4th song/first set! Little did I know that this was a pattern for him at GD Shows..!! Oh well, too bad for him that day! I found myself gravitating to the live sounds, and dancing in my seat. A wonderful introduction to a musical trip where I remain today!!
first show was 5/5/77, this just kept me on the bus :)
The Hartford Civic Center was a strange venue. Security gorillas often treated the concert goers with disdain. I remember a cute lil' thing being shoved in the face by some official looking Godzilla. The design of the place didn't encourage freedom of movement, so it took a bit more ingenuity to feel the good vibe of the show. But we always managed to find a good time. Estimated Prophet was a particular favorite, and Not Fade Away got the joint jumpin'.
Good show.
Location
incredible show, overall under rated. everything was played incredibly well. Great Roe Jimmy, Estimated, great early version of terrapin, no 2nd set drums, just (sorta) slam into NFA>wharfrat. I had a truly enlightened time.
