A rock & roll show. Jack Straw and a very hot set-ending Music highlight set 1. No real highlights in set 2 for me, but everything is well done. 8.5/10 VG show

    wharf rat
this has a slow, moody and intense intro to Wharf Rat. Depending on how you clock the space and the intro, this might be the longest Wharf Rat. No doubt in my mind -- an under-celebrated show, wicked and hot like 11-05.

maybe the weirdest dead show I ever went to
I had lived in Michigan for just over two months. These guys befriended me and took me to this concert, and showed up with their faces painted in Kiss masks. Then we wandered through the bowels of Detroit to get into this arena, where the sound reminded me of a times square subway station. Well, it's the thought that counts. Michigan shows were always a bit questionable, luckily I managed to move to the Bay area in '87!

This was my 2nd Dead show. What made it special besides the great music is that it was near my birthday on November 6th. Also, it was the first time I heard them perform Terrapin Station, which was always a high light of any show it was performed in.
