Buffalo NY 11/9/79
This was my first show. Went from Potsdam (Clarkson College) with 9 of my fraternity brothers.
I remember standing on a chair on the floor for most of the show. "he's gone" was the best.
"Steal your face right off your head". I figure I went 60 more times until my last show 8/4/94.
Had that mesculin again.
Do you remeber those things hanging down from the ceiling in that place. We decided to go to the Dead's hotel that night. We get lost wandering the streets of Buffalo and we go into a police station!!!! to ask for directions. I bought Phil a beer that night (heinekin) and I remember some crazy girl was chasing a very spaced out Brent.
Dancin into Franklin's Tower
Jerry opened up the 2nd set with about an hour of Dancin into Franlin's Tower. I was at this show with a number of friends from SUNY Brockport. These friends did not know the dead, I talked them into going. They just could not beleve how tight this band rocked. But for me the Dancin Franlin was the sound I got used to and would drive thousands of miles to hear. Jerry was the best, Phil was the BOM, lots of fun for us. Which I could go do that again!
I don't know, it must have been the shrooms
Loved this show. Came from Ithaca with my dream girl, who had never seen the Dead. It was magical. With the exception of Easy to Love You and I Need a Miracle, the set list was phenomenal. Locked the keys in my car- had to find a hotel for the night. Sleazebag dump, didn't get laid, lost the girl. But, hey, it was 28 years ago. I had 25 years of work to find my true dream girl. I'm truly sorry I can't take her to see the Dead. So I took her to see Phil.
Can't wait to hear the CD.
