    feels like a stranger
Before the show I was wandering around the parking lot when I happened along a stranger next to a van doing whippets. I asked him if he had some more. He said sure $1 each. I said how about 6 for 5? He said no. I said all right but I got to do them in your van. He said OK. We hopped in the van and he popped in a cassette. I heard two notes and I said feels like a stranger dead set. How would you like to here that tonight? He said I'd love it! When I was about to leave I asked him if he wanted to see a ticket that had a price of $0.00 on it. He said I assume you have one. I said never assume and walked away. That night they opened with feels like a stranger. Great show followed.

Wonderful Playing sandwich dominates the second set, wrapping Uncle John's and China Doll into drums. A special show.

EYES25This show as the first time I met the band. At the Richmond show I had a "vision" to build a huge, (6" in diameter) burled veneer mandala with a SYF inlayed in the center. I presented the concept to Dan Healy the night before and this night he saw me in the crowd and called me over to give me a backstage pass to talk with the band after the show. The Band seemed pretty psyched about the project and wanted to know what the cost would be. My response was it would be a gift, being able to give back to some people who have given me such joy and family for years was an honor. They insisted on giving me something so I asked for tickets for the shows. I didn't realize until later that they put me on the guest list and for the next 11 years I would have numerous tickets and passes waiting for me at every show. A deadheads dream come true.

First of all----YOU LUCKY BASTARD SYMMETRY!!! LOL My poor older brother got busted by undercover in the bathroom holding a joint right before the 1st set. I missed him gettinfg busted and could not figure out why he was not at his seats during the show. Dancing-Touch was great opener........I think it was the first. It was magic....PURE MAGIC!! Phil leaded the way. Uncle Johns-chinadoll -----BRENT was smoking!! A show never to forget. Ohhhhhhh yea.....My brother was outside by the car after the show......He said the cops proscessed him in a line of other deadheads under the areana. Thretened to take his yearly Giants tickes away. Had to go to court, 3 years probation, and hefty fine...............He was kicked out, missed the show and went next door to the horse track and won a few bucks
