GDTRFB "closing"

FYI: Goin' down the road closing as you call it is actually the melody from the song "And we bid you goodnight"

Great First Set

Underrated first set - Scarlet in the first was an awesome surprise. Went to this one too.

My second Dead show

I remember this stoned long haired dude asking me and my friends if we wanted to buy any “Trippies”. I did and so did one of my friends.
Gold stars and musical notes.
And it all happened exactly as you've probably heard it before:
During Dire Wolf I was utterly convinced that the man in front of me had a bomb strapped to him and was going to kill me. Fortunately I passed through my terror and into a different space entirely…
The second set was very intense and I did my own thing and didn't really see my friends until the end of the show. I remember walking out of the Garden and noticing all the squeaking shoes on the floor as did all the other dosed heads.
My friend who had also dosed looked a bit freaked, but he seemed ok and told me that he didn't mind when I said I wanted to continue partying.
I lost the people I’d arranged to meet and ended up staying in some random guys flat in Brooklyn, but when I got back to the hotel my friends were no where to be seen.
Eventually some others who I’d travelled from England with showed up and they were none the wiser.
Then we found a note they’d left that said “We’ve gone back to England”.
This was really bemusing and upsetting because I had no idea why they’d gone and I began to feel quite guilty that I’d done my own thing and left them to their own devices.
It was only when I got back to England that I found out that Pete had had a bad trip, thought I was the Devil, panicked and begged his friend to take him home.
It’s a crazy story, but it happened.
