    brent vince keith...they're all good
my 1st show without Brent...ended 9/7 with knockin on heavens door (I missed that show) and opened 9/8 with hell in a bucket. Vince had a lot to learn but was a great musician. i was not fond of his vocals. i actually thought he was the most versatile of the 3 on the keys. brent clearly a better singer and harder, more dramatic rocker. Keith...nobody could tickle the ivories like him! maybe too subtle but sublime. i read somewhere they cut the playlist down to 140 songs for the tour so Vince could learn them all...seems daunting.

Vince's second show was absolutely amazing. You've gotta hear just how tight Bobby, Jerry and Phil are on this 'Eyes>Estimated.' Both songs are incredible, with Phil thumping away monstrously behind Jerry's soaring leads during 'Eyes,' and Jerry dishing out an awe-inspiring souffle of midi sounds in the 'Estimated' jam. This is precision, controlled psychedelia at its very finest. It's as if they knew they had to take up the slack left from Brent's absence and come together to play at their best, which is just what they did. I was hoarse after this show, as were many others who were as excited as me to see the boys playing so well after a tragic summer. Vince stumbled a bit through certain tunes, but we were giving him slack 'cause he was new, and the rest of the band was playing so well anyway.

I kind of remember Vince playing the accordion here in Sugaree, I think, and really liking it.

I went to a bunch of shows, this is the first show w/ VInce ....different is what comes to mind. I still went to as many shows as I could but something was missing big time. That B3 Hammond and Brent vocals on songs w/ Jerry or Bobby like Cassidy or Wharf Rat

went to cleveland a lot. what a great town. hooking down great lakes beer all day on the west side and rocking all night in richfield. eyes of the world this night rolled along real pretty. dosed on nice liquid served on an orange slice-- nice anarchist visions. coliseum is now a prison but it was a liberating place at one time.

Yeah, I was a little junior deadhead that got seriously lost in this show. kept coming back to "life" and seeing wide-eyed "helpers" guiding me along my path. Heard myself banging on the railing with my big silver rings. wondered who the hell was so noisy whilst jerry was playing. left body and joined band many times during the 2nd set. It was never scary; just surprising. miss those days "It's all a dream we dreamed one afternoon long ago...." http://www.earthdream.etsy.com Kristin

Richfield, Ohio Sept 8, 1990 was my first show. I was unfamiliar with the band, their music, and the entire experience. I attended with life-long and wonderful deadhead friends who guided me however, as I discovered, it was a journey I had to take myself. The second set was both exhilarating and terrifying at the same time. I thought I had died, gone to hell, and that the band were demons. I came-to at a rest stop on I-90 somewhere west of Cleveland. No permanent damage...I'm pretty sure... (!) That said, I saw many more shows. Some straight, others not so much. But I now knew the way and could, and did, guide others. I too miss those days and think very fondly of them.
