    My first show
Yep, I was there. I had seen them on tv back on New Year's eve, 1970. My reaction to that was "ugh". After that however, I eventually became experienced, ala Jimi Hendrix, and understood. So when May 26th, 1973 happened, I was in my last days of high school. Got my ticket well beforehand . What a day! Got turned on to some Grateful Dead acid. Orange sunshine. But I didn't do it that day, saved it for later. I did do some mescaline, that was alright. The music of course was incredible. Saw a naked man in the audience. The show was so long, that when it was over, no one in the audience had any energy left to shout for any encores. Me? I had another ticket to see Johnny Winter at Winterland that very same eveining. Trooper that I was, I went to that one too! Man, I was so burned out from the day's proceeding that I don't even remember who was on before him. (It was Foghat and somebody named Peter Frampton) But when Johnny came on, I came alive! What a day!
