yup i was there - Jerry in shorts! :)
Ann Coulter was there too, which may surprise a lot of Heads (of which she is one - she saw tons of GD shows, and you can even see a pic on her website of her at GD in Berlin, fall 1990).....but back to 7/4/90 - very hot indeed, great fireworks after the show. the Gimme Some Lovin was an awesome July 4th treat since it was so rare to see Phil sing lead vocals back in those days

Tripping to Bonner Springs from St. Louis
Hottest day of my life. The road leading up to the venue was melting and every ones Birk's were getting stuck in the tar. Lost my brother-in-law for the whole first set. But didn't care the music was hotter than the temp outside! Great show!

    Ahhh Sandstone
Sandstone - my first show - I got hit by the lightning and it changed my life. I was 16 and I ran away from home to see the Dead. Drove out of Texas and into a different world and I have never looked back. I remember I couldn't get tickets to the first night, but I didn't care because I was having the time of my life. I got in the second night and it blew my mind. I ate acid like candy that night and I remember the sky bleeding during Scarlet-Fire. I took back a book of acid and turned on my whole high school. I don't do that sh*t anymore, but I sure remember the good old Grateful Dead dayz. I just got tickets to Shoreline on 5/10/09. This is the first show I've been to in 15 years. I can't wait to see California again. Any heads from North Texas who want to go, send me a message. I got a big camper van and plenty of room. Peace ya'll.

Hope someone remembers this. It was smoking hot in kansas.I smuggled a class c rocket the size of a pogo stick in to the show. My seats were on the grass. I waited until sunset when intermission was just ending. Got the rocket out to light it and the crowd ran from me. I launched it from my hand. It burned my arm and the blanket I was sitting on caught fire. band came right out after it exploded in the sky over the stage. the bottle rocket war after show in lot was the stuff of ledgends. All your bass are belong to PHIL.

got some great seats and took my brother to his first show. We watched some fool try a front flip land on his face and knock his teeth out. The band was kickin man. All your bass are belong to PHIL.

Peace to You All! Michelle

Jerry wore shorts, and the venue management actually prevented some handicapped people from bringing in bottled water so they could sell more concessions (medically very dangerous!). Despite the heavy-handedness, the band kept the afternoon cooking into the night.
