30 Days Of Dead - November 20th
+ More Info
You know your Ables from your Bakers from your C's, but can your finely tuned ears differentiate the cosmic "comeback" tour from a spacey 70's show? Each day we'll post a free download from one of the Dead's coveted shows. Will it be from that magical night at Madison Square Garden in '93 or from way back when they were just starting to warm it up at Winterland? Is that Pigpen's harmonica we hear? Brent on keys? Step right up and try your hand.
Each day, the first person to guess the venue & date correctly will get a Road Trips of their choice. If you’re not first but you've answered correctly, you will also be automatically entered for a weekly prize of THE WARNER BROTHERS STUDIO ALBUMS VINYL BOX (EXCLUSIVE EDITION) or a FORMERLY THE WARLOCKS boxed set. Log in now and enter to win! - Less Info

yetay, This has to be, "The Greatest Story ever Told". We have 22 Dead songs so far, 23 in a few hours. Yet Furthur we go, we all miss and love, Jerry. But you know he is smiling seeing what he created just by making music with the boys. We have to be the biggest Family where "Love Is Real Not Fade Away". I am Proud to be a DEAD HEAD!!! Thank you, yetay
Yes, 25.6 MB. Keep trying.
Alright, I got this one right yesterday. It took me a while to get, but I sure do enjoy the chase.
I guess they didn't consider it part of the song? it took a good 20 minutes to download but I got it after a few failed attempts of zero. i put my guess in around 12:15, before downloading, kept getting logged out so not sure if it worked but I got the "Thanks" message.
Furthur tonight - if I close my eyes it's the closest thing to the good old days out there
thanks DeadNet and happy Saturday to all
May you have peace, love, and happiness, always. deadroots.net/30days for the previous downloads if anyone was wondering, I just found out so....Thanks so much.
Everyone's jamming! Go, Jerry!!! Great version!
Hey, Charlie Brown, I'm also watchin' the L'pool-West Ham match while rockin' out! West Ham's not putting up much of a fight though, are they?
...the site may be experiencing some end of the week weariness - and lot of duplicate comments from folks hitting "post" repeatedly LOL.
With all the traffic over the last few weeks I'm thinking there's some cables with melted insulation.
I really, really, really, really, reeeeeleeeee LIKE it.. ..uh-LAAAWT!.........THENX...maaaaaan!
Furthur opened with this last night!!
Mama Tried> Mexicali
"...bound to cover just a little more ground..."
"CLUE: This duet of songs features a Weir/Barlow tune from Bobby’s Ace album and a traditional song played by Grateful Dead in 1966, 1970-1974, and then 1979-1995."
In order: Cassidy > Don't Ease Me In, Looks Like Rain > Don't Ease Me In, Mexicali Blues > Don't Ease Me In
Listening to Pigpen sing this, just makes me happy. Love it!
Biggest Alligator I've ever seen. Thanks again!
I was just told the box from dead.net was here all day!
Big Rock baby!
can't wait for tomorrow's roll out.
Grateful Dead!!!!!!!! WoHooo!!!!!!!!
Put in my guess. I'm sure I'm not the first, but this is too much fun to pass up.

Thank Jerry, Bobby, Phil, Billy, Mickey, Pig, Brent, Bruce, Donna, Keith, Vince, Tom, Mr. Graham, Mr. Lemieux, and Marye. Not to mention the kind souls like Rex, RamRod, etc. etc. etc. etc.
But your welcome my kind brothers and sisters.
A new data drive I bought to replace the aging system drive threw a temper tantrum and started to rant in the event log yesterday so I had to unplug it. Today I'm back to one drive and I get to ride to the store in the rain to pick up another new drive under warranty and, hopefully, transfer everything over this afternoon. Whee! See you later! (B-)
Well, that makes me feel a little better - I too guessed way early (and correctly) and was hoping to be the weiner for the day!
Not my favorite song, but this one smokes!
Great Stuff !!
Love the power of the song. I sure miss the live shows.
Canyon , that is shocking I mean really how much faster can you be ,
Been away for a few days, glad to come back and catch up! Great Stuff! "Cheers!!!"
The Live Music Archive has three slightly different edits to the same 1967 performance of Alligator.
If you haven't voted yet, give them each a listen and see what you think. Paste this link in your browser:
Best Wishes-Jimmy the Cop
Huh...I listened to one of those during my search and had to rule it out due to length. Perhaps I was too hasty?
Another day in pair of dice.
Just smiling and dreaming.
Thanks tech team!
Do For Other's You Will Feel Better.
Hey Jimmy the Cop - cool to point people in a direction but should we give away the answer to everyone without any work??
At this point, what does it matter? If he's right, he's only guiding people towards a free entry for the weekly prize. How kind!
It's probably a long way from where you are to where the servers are, and those packets may have taken a wrong turn at bad router in Albuquerque. The same logic applies to the initial posting of the new day's song from dead.net appearing on your webpage, somebody else might see it before you do. It's likely only a few seconds but can be longer, and there may be a lot of people sending in the correct answer at the same time. There's a pretty healthy random factor involved with getting the first correct answer in, I think. Does the confirmation message confirm that your answers have been received, or only that your answer has been sent?
I've answered correctly in a minute and by the time it said 'thank you' someone had already posted that they got the answer.
I think if you don't get it in the first 12-15 seconds you aren't even in the top 10.
Ha! Helena, nice Bugs Bunny reference!
Dear persons in charge,
please release a road trips from '67. some of us have been waiting for years for something from this most stylish of eras....
There's only 10 days left in November.......Boo HOO Hoping maybe December will wrack us in some Joy as well.......
Always worth hoping right!!! Took me forever to download but I think I got this one correct but I know I wasn't the first :(
It's funny how they refer this song as Alligator...ha ha
I can't believe people used to take big gobs of Vitamin L and dance to this stuff. I'm starting to get the shakes and the big old saucery eyes and I haven't imbibed since the Reagan Administration. ALLIGATOR!!! ALLIGATOR!!!! OW!!!!!!
Thanks for what I think may have been my very first acid flashback. I've been waiting for an unbelievably long time for one. ALLIGATOR!!!!!!! It's gonna be a good night....
Subject should have read "Dear Dead Net." But since my fingers look like ALLIGATORS, what can ya do.
....if so, this runs a little slower (corrected, no doubt) from the version I've got. Manic nevertheless!
Does this mean the whole set's in the vault??
Primal psychedelic Dead! VERY psyched about this one. Some really inspired selections in this 30 Days party.....! THANKS ALL.
Including a second Easy Wind they did for some reason.
Hey - what the heck w/ the "contest"
We've been MIRACLED!
Just now hearing this at 9:50 pm in the Mountain time zone, so no guess today, but what a killer version of Alligator! I'm guessing 69-70, but looking forward to finding out the actual date so I can check out the rest of the show.
Hey all let's get patient. I know everyone can not get the tune the minute it is available but we are getting this for FREE and it is wonderful. Complaining about not being able to get the new tune the minute it is available doesn't help. :)
What a great time I'm having trying to guess these daily doses of Dead! I've never done so much delving into the far reaches of the setlist archive in all my life. I've got to hand it to you all, you know your stuff! And you're fast too! I've had 4 correct guesses now, but I'm always too late. Alas, it's not a big deal; what's truly important here is that we are having fun with it and celebrating the legacy that the Grateful Dead have left us over 30 years.
Keep on Truckin' on!
