30 Days Of Dead - November 22nd

We're on a mission to make a miracle every day. As a token of our appreciation for making 2010 an epic year, we're giving away a high-quality 320Kbps download every day this November. That's 30 days of Dead! Intrigued? We're also going to put your knowledge to the test and give you the chance to win some great music from the Dead.
                                                     + More Info
You know your Ables from your Bakers from your C's, but can your finely tuned ears differentiate the cosmic "comeback" tour from a spacey 70's show? Each day we'll post a free download from one of the Dead's coveted shows. Will it be from that magical night at Madison Square Garden in '93 or from way back when they were just starting to warm it up at Winterland? Is that Pigpen's harmonica we hear? Brent on keys? Step right up and try your hand.

Each day, the first person to guess the venue & date correctly will get a Road Trips of their choice. If you’re not first but you've answered correctly, you will also be automatically entered for a weekly prize of THE WARNER BROTHERS STUDIO ALBUMS VINYL BOX (EXCLUSIVE EDITION) or a FORMERLY THE WARLOCKS boxed set. Log in now and enter to win!

We haven't selected a daily winner yet. The first person to answer correctly will get to pick a Road Trips of their choice. To get started, login or register using the form above.

Let It Grow is the end of a first set.

Can anyone help with links to yesterday's song. I missed yesterday's because we had a power outage here.

Also I see that someone said they got 28 so far, so I missed a couple of the double days as well. Anyone got links to those?

Thanks in advance,

Charlotte seems like a venue they liked

I love the Brent years, and he was well primed by '89. I'd just moved to Colorado so my stomping grounds became the West and mid-west. Missed a lot of MSG, Hampton, and many other great east cost venues. Loved the mellow & laid back textures of the West; however, The Spectrum, Worcester Colusium, and Hampton didn't just look like space ships. And as the whole of Charlotte shows show, well they could have easily played The Music Never Stopped. Thank you for posting these Daily Downloads and for helping keep the vibe alive! (~:

So, is there a B version of this?

Does anyone know if there is a B version of this?

The great Philly Spectrum returns to ashes today, maybe the good folks at will honor the house of many great shows with a selection from there.

The > threw me off!

I hate when a tape labels a transition with a > but when you listen there is no transition. Tennessee Jed does not go seamlessly into Let it Grow at this show, and deadbase does not list it that way. When I searched for shows with that transition I didn't find anything past '85. I knew the sound was '89-90, though, so I was stumped. I figure the > was done to justify two songs on one day, so I guess that's pretty awesome!

maybe another double today?

dupree's>mountains of the moon, played 10 times in 69, or a cosmic charlie played 43 times, or a doin that rag played 40 times, or a stand alone dupree's played at 80 shows, or a mountains of the moon played only 13 times, anyway you look at it, it's gonna be a good one today. But a dupree>mountains would be so fine, thanks for the Jerry jams.

How many?

I agree, lonndoggie, it looks like 24 (two "b" versions) to me, too. This is some fabulous stuff - I wish that the music would never stop! Hey, all, happy holidays! It's been an interesting couple of years, but I remember that my Dead family was always my home. It has been a Freeking blast to gather around the fire once again, fill up the cups. Peace and love!

While this was an easy one (again!), I got my vote in early today. Crossing my usually peaced-out fingers. (^_^)

And, loving this sweet combo with 2 of my favorite songs from their late 80's line-up. Thanks!

Didn't know what you guys were talking about...

...about the date being in the filename. My d/l'd MP3 just had the "22a" at the end of the name. Then I looked at the file's properties and in the summary the date is included in the Title metadata. Awesome. Should be a lot more people in on the weekly drawing this week!

TPTB have done this 21 times before, I wonder if this little 'gimme' was intentional

Hot stuff

Hey this is really hotting up, two at a time now! And these aren't even tracks that are traditionally associated such as China>Rider...

Hoping for a Scarlet>Fire, and a Lady>Terrapin would be cool!

Thanks everyone in the band and at Deadnet for this amazing month:-)

Hey Radhock, absolutely right, Deal is one of those totally essential Jerry songs, I love to play it on the guitar myself, dig those jazzy chord progressions!

Awesome month so far, thank

Awesome month so far, thank you for all you have been doing. I can still remember introducing my niece at 3 years old to throwing stones, she loved running around and singing "ashes to ashes we all fall down". Hope to see something off the In the Dark album, after shakedown, terrapin, and scarlett. keep up the great job and have a wonderful turkey day.

Thanks for all the downloads

I want to thank everyone involved for all of the great downloads. That Alligator was one of the best early performances I've heard. I managed to get today's date correct and then later I found the date listed on the song title. Oh well...I'm enjoying the challenge. Thanks!!

Yeah, that's the way I was counting the songs. 22 days plus four for the four double headers (China Cat Sunflower>I Know You Rider; Lost Sailor>Saint Of Circumstance; Cassidy>Don't Ease Me In; and Tennessee Jed>Let It Grow) plus two more for the (b) versions of Easy Wind and He's Gone. Hope I didn't cause people too much confusion.

I don't know where to find the (b) versions for those who didn't download them day of, but there have been a number of suggestions posted by people more informed than me in the comment threads, so read through and you'll find the answer. Someone even posted one of the (b) versions as a playable song in a comment box on one of the previous day's threads, but I'm not sure if that's still up.

Regarding when the song's get posted for the day, it's been variable, ranging from 15 minutes till 9:00 Pacific Standard Time to 20 minutes past the hour. Generally though its usually up at around 10 minutes till 9:00. About a minute or two before clicking the 30 Days of Dead icon takes you directly to the new day's song, it will take you to the previous day's page but the calendar will have a clickable link for the current date and that will take you to the song.

My guess for tomorrow is Cosmic Charlie.
