You know your Ables from your Bakers from your C's, but can your finely tuned ears differentiate the cosmic "comeback" tour from a spacey 70's show? Each day we'll post a free download from one of the Dead's coveted shows. Will it be from that magical night at Madison Square Garden in '93 or from way back when they were just starting to warm it up at Winterland? Is that Pigpen's harmonica we hear? Brent on keys? Step right up and try your hand.
Each day, the first person to guess the venue & date correctly will get a Road Trips of their choice. If you’re not first but you've answered correctly, you will also be automatically entered for a weekly prize of THE WARNER BROTHERS STUDIO ALBUMS VINYL BOX (EXCLUSIVE EDITION) or a FORMERLY THE WARLOCKS boxed set. And of course I meant itunes.
Thanks so very much for improved DL performance today. It might be due to the much smaller file size than PITB but it worked first time today.
File size: 22.5MB Playing Time: 9:51 (includes "dead space).
The spirit of cooperation on this site is truly remarkable. Yes, I am Grateful!

I'm very excited to be seeing the upcoming Chicago Furthur Shows for sure, I'm really hoping I can make Iowa and St. Louis too. This is going to be a fun month for sure!
Be sure to check out the Furthur Thread on our Forum (alot of us Dead.Netters are meeting up) so make sure to post and contact me if you'd like to hang out for Chicago.

Pre-digi days were sometimes confusing. I clearly remember about 70% of my analog Dead shows from 1970 having post-its/notes everywhere noting "wrong date, really 2-11-70...etc...From around 22 shows i have on analog from 1970 perhaps 5-6 are genuinely the correct date....lol....and so it goes...thx for all!!!!! ...when I was first listened to the Springer's Inn version I swore that was the one but then I saw that it was previously released as a bonus track on the Workingman's reissue. Since I thought that these tracks were going to be all previously unreleased I spent some time listening to quite a bit more Wind before I circled back here and really listened to the undeniable similarities.
Love todays download! Many many thanks once again!
There is extra stage banter at the end of this file due to the etiquette on how to store consecutive songs. If a song is not a set closer and has a song following, all stage banter and artist/song introductions reside at the end of the song just played. This allows the listener to skip the chat and get to the music if you want, but the complete show is there for archival purposes. Talk is only included at the start of a song if it is the set opener.
Thank you everyone for your album friendlier versions of today's song. Having never edited or uploaded a song, it took me longer, but here is my version, complete with the ending "thank you" and a nice fade out, running 8:10 in length. Audacity wouldn't let me export it as an mp3, but as a wav instead (I don't know the difference). Here's mine for the practice, but I'll likely use one of your's. Again thanks all.

If you want to delete the space at the end of this tune but don't have an app to do it remember if you're using itines you can go under options and tell it when to stop playing the song.
