Welcome back to the Tapers' Section, where this week we have music from an 11 year span of Grateful Dead history, 1973, 1977 and 1984.
Our first selection this week is from 7/1/73 at the Universal Amphitheatre in LA, the final night of a three night run, where we have the end of the first set followed by the first two songs of the second set. Big River ; China Cat Sunflower > I Know You Rider; Around And Around , start set Two Playing In The Band, Row Jimmy.
Next is the end of the first set from 5/4/77 at the Palladium in New York City, the final night of the Dead's last five night run in NY until they returned for five nights in September 1987 at Madison Square Garden. From the Palladium we have Cassidy ; Deal ; Looks Like Rain ; Brown Eyed Women ; Dancing In The Street.
Lastly this week is the end of the first set and the start of the second set of the show on 6/23/84 in Harrisburg, PA, where we have Big Railroad Blues ; The Music Never Stopped > Don't Ease Me In; Touch Of Grey ; Estimated Prophet. The end of Estimated Prophet ends before going into Eyes Of The World, due to the cassette needing a flip.
Be sure to join us here next week for music from the vault.
