We were late
This was Diane's and I second New England show. We were late getting in. Think they were already playing Candyman. I don't remember this as being anything special. Though have not listened to it from the downloads you used to be able to buy from this site. I'm a sucker for "Stranger" and High Time is always a pleasure as I consider it a rare tune.
Everything I've learned is from The Grateful Dead and Buffy The Vampire Slayer.
My first Dead show
I had been to lots of arena rock concerts, but this was something different. The only tunes i recognized were Truckin' and Johnny B. Goode. I pushed my way up to the front and loved the energy of the band and all the dancing. The biggest impression was about the crowd - the community party atmosphere was powerful and seemed much more connected to the band and music than at, say, a Yes or Ted Nugent concert. By 1982 I was seeing Jerry and the Boys 15 times a year.
cheers!
