Detroit Lakes
Nice photos Hal and Ken! How hungry are the flies and mosquitoes this summer?
The flies and mosquitos
Gr8fulTed - Not bad at Detroit Lakes but I wait to hear about your BWCA (Boundary Waters) and Quetico trip where they can rule. I have had some amazing trips up there over the years. Actually would go up in April/ May to avoid the black flies and mosquitos but did get snowed in at times. Have fun.

There was a nice cool Minnesota breeze each night
to keep those bad skeeters down and the dragonflys were snacking on the ones that could fly well. We truly had wonderful time both with friends and festival fun. Our two tribes quickly combined into one as we shared stories, laughed, danced, and all wandered into the auditory delights and adventurous and diverse musical landscapes that were offered nightly. Mary said to me "your deadnet friends are so nice and so much fun!" Of course, she was right and with Phil & Mickey jamming at full speed, linking up with Hal & Ken to share those nights was (to quote Bobby in the late '70's)
"Just exactly perfect".
so happy : )
love the smiles all down the line... let your lovelight shine

Good old days!!!
When I look at that pic, all I can think about is the good old days. Glad to see some of us are still truckin on!!!
iknowyourider,
check for my account of these shows in the Phil & Friends or Favorite festival sections. Or were you inquiring about more wild and wooly tales of shows past ;o } ?
I know you all (including marye) would have been dancing up a storm with us at 10KLF.
And yes, Steve-o, we all 'Keep on Truckin' ON!' BA-DA-BOOM (obligatory Phil-bomb!!!)
Very nice!
Wonderful photo of some magnificent people with beautiful minds. Thanks for sharing.
pkpotter said it all....
I just want to second it, and thank you for sharing in these forums the last weeks, especially. Peace & Lots of Music
Hey, I Was There, Too!
Great fun to see a picture from the 10K Lakes Festival! My buddies and I got up there late on Wednesday night, just in time to see DSO at an 11 pm start. On the other end of the multi-day affair was P & F with a great show, too (with Mickey on Thursday).
I recall being amazed at how few people were congregating in front of the stage before Phil got started. At T-15 minutes, there were probably no more than 50 people at the stage. Even 15 minutes into the show, I looked back and there were only a few hundred people. WTF, I thought?
I'm happy to report that by the fourth or fifth song, it was pretty packed. I seem to recall there was some confusion about what time P & F were scheduled to start (or maybe WE were just confused due to the vagaries of buzz management ;-).
