    Butterfly
The butterfly was meant as the 'dawning" or the "birth" of a new year and decade..It was to become the 80's.. I was actually driving the truck that came out at midnight, and from which Bill Graham ascended as the butterfly..A lot of fun was had that night..

    Butterfly?
Anyone know the significance of the Butterfly? Just watched the video on you tube of this show. Was far from flawless the entry of Bill Graham. Other new years shows have come across much more in sync during the countdown. Not complaining trust me just wondering if anyone knows the answer as to why Butterfly?

Even with Bobby sick as a dog with the flu by the third set, I had a great time. Second set was a mystery - it wasn't until Deal that I realized that there was another major set to come. Even though it paled in the shadow of 1978 (and the shows on 12/26 and 28/79), it was still loads of fun.

we got to camp out on the lawn by the front entrance. If you know the area, its alittle park-like setting by the Lake Merritt. Truely the best memories because I was able to go to work in the neighborhood at my office job and still be rediculous at nite. Probably passed out the flyers the last day. keep your character, enjoy living, share your fortune, OXOX Merple Reddin
