( I used to tease her by calling her "you lean" (instead of Ei Leen) She left in late January, and should be arriving in Alaska sometime soon, I would think. - but then it's such a little car, with so much stuff... and such a long way to go all by herself - brave woman!     Traveled to Alaska to club books?
    Well, I guess since taking it out on the little baby seals has fallen into disfavor if you have to club something books will have to do.     What a magical journey. Something tells me that time will pass in a different space for her. And that's the magic, the beauty, of a journey of the heart.     AlaskaGirl is in Alaska, Safe & Sound (well - we'll think about that last part) - busy hiking & enjoying life & looking for work & lodging - so she will be AlaskaGirl here soon - but it may take her a while - what with book club & whatnot (Book club?) Got to get the priorities straight - in the meanwhile, nobody take the name AlaskaGirl - I reserved it for her - she just needs to respond with the last little bit of effort to achieve all that she can be - AlaskaGirl. I've been sending her hurry up emails - but given the fact that she sold her house, travelled all the way across the continent (by herself) and is doing book club before finding a job and place to live - I doubt she'll listen to me (nor should she)

    Received today, thanks BS1969NJ and Erickat! DVD is ripped and burned. Converted first show and, assuming the other 2 + the 2d source for 6/21 convert propertly, will go out tomorrow.

    http://www.alaskabeers.com/ http://www.glacierbrewhouse.com/ They look like good places to be. I heard from her - She's in. I tried to get her to register on the site, but she had trouble. I registered her as AlaskaGirl - with her email - she just has to finish it off now - then she can post herself. I suggested that at least she write the story up for readers digest & get a hundred bucks - but she's shy about that kind of stuff. I guess she's also kind of busy doing dumb stuff like looking for a place to live & a job & whatnot.

    That would be a good place to be in Anchorage, for two reasons: They're having a release party for their Eisbock beer ("big, malty, slightly fruity and high in alcohol") tomorrow, and they have a Market Price Blue Plate Special where the special costs whatever the Dow Jones avg for the previous day is, so tomorrow it'll only be $6.88. Apparently, she came back east for a family visit (or something) - and stopped into work for a visit. She's actually working as a Jr. Data Analyst (hey, at least it's work) - it's way below her, but it's easy & fits her carefree life. She's fishing every day & stocking up for winter & had some great stories about bear spray & how to ward off bears when they do that fake charge thing (raise your arms above your head and wave them & say "Go away bear" - or something like that) She said they did this because they were in a big group (like 6 people) - and her friend ran back to camp - and later, she asked him "so, did you think you were better off all by yourself, or with a group of 5 other people - and did you think that was the only bear in the area?" - that's right - the women are smarter! Anyway - I didn't really get much of a chance to talk with her - and then she was gone (again) - maybe I'll see her before she goes back to Anchorage.

someone sign-up for this. (and fed-ex is a bit of overkill - don't you think?) I use a cut-up plain brown grocery bag & some bubble wrap & lots of tape (not scotch - the good clear packing tape) - home made & recycled - but bomb proof. These Alaska shows are really great - worth the price of postage
