    Gig update plus SYCAMORE SLOUGH STRING BAND news
    Good day, friends! Tonight is the public debut of the Sycamore Slough String Band! This is an acoustic quartet doing Grateful Dead-ish music, with Bay Area bluegrass luminary David Thom on mandolin, "Fiddle Dave" Muhlethaler, and Roger Sideman on bass.     Good day, friends! I have two urgent items for your immediate attention, and some news about my musical plans for the year. First, tomorrow is the annual KPFA Grateful Dead marathon! I'll be on the air from 9 am until 1 am Pacific time, and the program will be webcast via http://www.kpfa.org, http://www.nugs.net, and http://www.gdradio.net - please spread the word!     Greetings on the eve of my trip to the Mountain Time Zone! I start (still in the Pacific time zone) with a house concert in Las Vegas on Saturday, and then I'm off to Utah, Idaho, and Montana for six performances in eight days, interspersed with awesome sightseeing and spiritual refreshment. SYCAMORE SLOUGH STRING BAND: Sycamore Slough String Band is an acoustic quartet focusing on the music of the Grateful Dead, with other fine songs popping up occasionally as well.
