    started by Birdsong1969NJ 20 Years So Far. Early Summer Tour Part 2: Wisconsin and Ohio + The FLAC DVD of Part 1 Well here goes folks. I’ve been piecing this one together, and with the help of two great connoisseurs and sharing kind souls, this one is ready to roll. The first kind soul, is a great friend of mine from Seattle named ….well we’ll call him MIKE. The other is my personal “Captain Sully” of the Dead.net vineyard community ltapilot. Great thanks to both for making this goal of mine to get quality recordings this entire run possible. This swing is when I got on the bus, and I feel very blessed to have seen some of these shows. The band seemed fired up every night. Such great hot summer nights under pavilions and stars. This was really the last summer tour which played a lot of these smallish outdoor venues. After 1985 we bid farewell to shows at Merriweather Post and the Blossom Music Center. We were told they would never be able to play S.P.A.C. again after the 2nd level wa

Too bad we're all spending so much money moving mp3's. It just cost the guy's before me $10 each way from us to aust. and aust to can. oh well, I'm happy to have the shows, I just didn't burn the cd's. I'll make my own. It's cool.

    This one goes out today to Ice Creme Kid along with two other vines. He is in Australia, so I imagine it will take a while to get ther and back here again.

    Sorry about the delay, I've had a family emergency that caused me to be out of town for 2 weeks. I got home to a box full of vines. I have this vine and will do my best to have it moving again by the end of the week.

    I don't know now what I sent Stu.... but it was 2 different vines.... plus a reseed DVD of the 1985 Vine. Hoping he will give me more specifics on what was in the package. I have this vine on my hard drive.... plus I have the 20 years So Far Vine part 1 The Greeks in front of me on 8 CDR's. Copying now. Thanks. Raymond

    well it is what it is
    But it`s wrong , you loose data and sound quality when you convert shn/flac to mp3 or mp3 to shn/flac . you don`t gain anything from converting mp3 to flac . nothing should be vined in this format . Unless you want to call it an MP3 vine to start with . But too late now , Please don`t convert mp3 to flac and call it a dvd flac files disc.     Stu is only partially correct. The Alpine shows are lossless. The Blossom is MP3. They all sound great. "And I love the life I live And I'm gonna live the life I love"

...tomorrow to maustin. A little more info regarding JSFC's question: all four shows are in CD-R wav format. 6/21, 6/22, and 6/24 and also in shn format with checksum files. I doubt anyone converted these from mp3. 6/25 was in flac format but I couldn't get gapless playback from the files - especially China>Rider - a clear sign that they were lossy (mp3) at one point. I re-ripped 6/25 from the CDs into flac format using dBpoweramp so it's now gapless and sounds sweet. A new DVD is provided. Jake - I can send you the gapless version of 6/25 if you didn't rip it yourself. Thanks!
