I guess the point was, misunderstood? or taken out of context. ? Not about whether or not you experienced the Grateful Dead OR HOW MANY SHOWS YOU WENT TO, but is about the folks that came into the Chatroom ( this IS The Grateful Dead Website) just to play ' chat games', and mess with people, and hack - day after day and they never would talk about the music. ! .thats all. c'mon... I think you know what I meant... either way, there's 4 original Grateful Dead members out there touring- right now, making some historic music, sure would love to be able to chat about that ! but -we are getting by -with texts and the forums and FB pages :)) we need a place here to post the current show reviews and current set lists. A large part of this grateful dead thing is family of course the main thing is music but family talk about other things,their lifes,the weather,their children,its all a part of relationship building.Im pretty sure theres threads in here about further and the rythm devils if not you start them sister i will be more than happy too get involved in anything dead related.

Hey DSG if you wan't to talk about the music, talk about the music. You want to post reviews and setliests I would love to see them on the Furthur forum. If you want a new forum to post them ask Marye. Nobody should put you down for your passion and your head full of dead, but lots of us dont have the chance to see so many shows as you and, well you know, if we weren't there its a little hard for us to have a conversation about it. So we talk about other stuff too..and come on DSG...don't pretend you dont talk about other stuff in the Chatroom too :-) Its a drag when people get nasty and personal in the chatroom for sure and it gets me down too. But most folks are kind and if they step over the line are quick to apologise. I for one will be glad to meet up with you there when it is back on line and don't forget Donna Jean too!

but there were times when people ...again, I won't point fingers...would be there just to complain about NOT getting on stage, or bragging in a sideways sort of manner about how many shows they had seen this year, or "so and so is out to get me", or "I spent X amount of dollars on tickets this year". is easier than herding Heads. You can't control the flow. Kinda the other way around. If what you want is a mindless groupie site filled with nothing but flacks spewing about how great their hero is, I'm sure there must be a Justin Bieber forum out there somewhere. Not that I've looked for one or anything... People everywhere just got to be free! Conversation is always more interesting than recitation, so speak your mind and not someone else's.

I like hearing reviews of shows. Debating stuff about them is fun too. But that does not happen on this site much anymore. It did during the Dead 2009 tour but not so much with Furthur. I avoid chat rooms because I think they are creepy in a sense. Plus people's egos usually get in the way and that's where you get the putting people down, and other ugliness. Trust me non-DeadHeads show up with a goal of pushing the envelope and getting under your skin. So from that angle I agree with DSG. "The dire wolf collects his due while the boys sing round the fire"

I just wanted to say how much i miss the chatroom and all of my dead.net family that i have grown to love over the last year.There is the occasional argument,some disagreements,and sometimes conversation gets a little weird,but that happens everywhere.We are all different and sometimes rub each other the wrong way,but mostly just enjoy each others company and conversation.I can just hope that the site will put a chatroom back up for us so that we can reconnect.In the meantime,i hope all my dead.net family is healthy,happy,and enjoying the music we have all enjoyed for so many years.I wish all of you peace love and prosperity until we meet again.

Glad to be of service in solving the mystery. I was actually drinking some of that brew last night, for the first time, had never seen it before. I took one look at the label and started laughing...and we launched into this big Wizard of Oz didn't-the-flying-monkeys-scare-the-pants-off-you-when-you-were-a-kid jag. (They scare the pants off me to this day). But Johnman's right, I don't know what that monkey is doing in the wheatfield, looking sinister as flying monkeys are wont to do. No hippies in sight, but it looks like there's a flock of flyers in the background circling around SOMETHING. I'll need to drink some more to get to the bottom of it...the bottle, that is.
