    Chicago Celebrates Jerry!
Terrapin Flyer; Chicago's liaison to the spirit of the GD, will be performing two special shows on the day of birth and the day of passing of Jerry Garcia at the Kinetic Playground. The August 1st show will feature members of Chicago's premiere contemporary bluegrass band Cornmeal and the August 9th show will feature former Dark Star Orchestra bassist Micheal Hazdra. Hope you can make it and if not help spread the good word. Mahalo.

Jerry Tribute -- Washington, DC Area
The IOTA Club at 2832 Wilson Blvd. in Arlington, VA (http://www.iotaclubandcafe.com/) will host a Jerry Garcia tribute concert presented by one of the DC area's finest roots-rock bands, the U-Liners (www.uliners.com). This show has sold out every year, so come early! The U-Liners will open with a sit-down acoustic set drawing on the acoustic music Jerry played -- the bluegrass of Old & In The Way, the folk and jazz he played with David Grisman, and the acoustic rock Jerry played with the Grateful Dead and other bands. Then the U-Liners will return for a 2+ hour show featuring selections from the Grateful Dead and Jerry Garcia Band repertoire. This is always a great evening with lots of great music, special guests, and Grateful Spirit!! Joe Uehlein Juehlein@aol.com www.uliners.com Roots-rock Music

Grateful to Garcia in Oxford Ohio
The Zen Lunatics present: The Grateful to Garcia Festival on August 3rd, 4th and 5th! Come celebrate the life and times of a man who has affected the lives of so many of us throughout the years. $15 for two nights of camping, good music, and strange behavior. With Great music from The Zen Lunatics, Chuck Land Band, G-nome, Headband, Ohio Pie Factory, The Bandwagon Sessions, The Nick Mitchell Band, Sammy Smith and the Tadcasters, and many more! There will be a ceremonious burning of things, followed by a spiritual drum circle, led by the Zen Lunatics own, Ben Lee! Also, anyone with a VW MICROBUS can load it up with people and get the whole van-load in for $30. There will be special parking for microbuses. Bring costumes, hacky sacks, juggling sticks, dogs, girlfriends, boyfriends, those real long swirlly ribbons on the end of a hand held stick, your grandmother, your grandchild, Dead show bootlegs for trading, Hand Drums, guitars, mandolins, a chinaman, memories of your favorite shows, crazy masks, beer, Garbage bags to clean up after yourself, marshmallows chocolate and graham crackers, a long pointy stick for fire poking, stories, songs, laughter, dancing shoes,(or just dance barefoot) dancing hats, dancing skirts and dancing bears, (no, don't bring any live bears.. that would be bad)suntan lotions, love potions, guacamole, a miner named Jack, six fire fighters, actually, the only things that we don't want you to bring pretty much would be your inhibitions... and bears, don't bring live bears. See you at the show! Peace Love and Insanity! Tony Hall the Zen Lunatics
