    Some of the best acoustic shows I have ever seen, get out and try to see them if you can. Just came out with a new album about a month or two ago, Tennesssee Pusher. Even if your not that into bluegrass, which I am not a huge fan, I am sure that you will enjoy yourself with the amount of energy put into it. If you can see them in a small place first you will be hooked. Peace.

    Well here it is again....Check them out.. http://www.hotbutteredrum.net/ Hot Buttered Rum a bluegrass/jamband from Ca. they opened for DSO sat night in Philly and they were HOT!! Sweet Hot Buttered Rum yeah baby nothing like it!! and of coarse DSO was smokin HOT too!

    come check em out in early January at Water Street Music Hall in Rochester. See Scott Murawski (KBM) with his original band. You will love keyboard playing of Mark Mercier. Best value in music.

    great band from Minnesota, eh. i'm from the South Jersey/Philly area, but have always loved the Wu. though on a short hiatus, they should be back one day. i'm now in beautiful Boulder, Colorado, and love all of the smaller local bands, like the Heavy Cats and Goldhill , and, of course, the bigger ones, like SCI, LoS, the Motet, etc...Anyone in the area that wants to play some music, trade some music, see some music, talk music, let me know! peace.Grady db.etree.org/jgradydead go Eagles!

They are obviously solid, very tight musicians. However, I found their recorded music to be almost muzac for Deadheads...excellent background music played by exceptional musicians. Luckily, I had opportunity to catch a live show, and for $20, I gave it a shot. All I can say is "Wow"...extreme energy live...very tight, almost disciplined live, but also highly creative and improvisational. They played about 2 1/2 hours non-stop with VERY impressive jams. I highly recommend their live shows.

Dave McMurray, saxophonist late of Was Not Was, has a new album of Dead covers, Grateful Deadication, which sorta came into being when he saw Weir do Days Between at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass a few years back. It's very good.

Any fans digging Billy's awesome live gigs. He's covered lots of Dead tunes "Wharf Rat" , "To lay Me Down", "Me & My Uncle", All done really well. Of course he's played in Billy and the Kids.

Caught these guys a month ago in Va. Maybe next week in the bay area.
Great live show. Much improvisation.
Glorious and joyful originals. Great covers. Fun Jams coming from some very young pups.
Hopefully they're built to last.

I may be spoiled, but Indianapolis has an amazing band called Starcat that performs music by the Jerry Garcia Band with a lineup that resembles Jerry's classic 90's outfit.

Wanted to share this up-and-coming tribute band, Shakedown Citi, that I just saw live. The group formed last year in the Citi Fields parking lot and really have something special going on. They play a ton of show in/around NYC --- I'm especially excited for their show at Hill Country Live on Tues. Sept. 3. You should be able to find them with a quick google search-- they got active website, socials, and a link tree for upcoming gigs.
