We're getting a lot of folks asking where to send corrections for assorted errors they've found in the show archives. Maybe they didn't really play "Saint of Circumstance" that night. Maybe we have the band at the Meadowlands when they were really at MSG. Maybe the boys are simultaneously in Philadelphia and Phoenix. Whatever mistakes you've found, this is the place to report them. Please include this information to make it easier for the tech folks to deal with: The date and/or URL of the show in question (for example, https://www.dead.net/show/june-21-1980) A detailed description of the problem (for example, wrong town, wrong venue, no "St. Stephen," etc.) The source of your information (for example, DeadBase, notes on your tape, "Hey, I was in the front row and I'll never forget it!") Thank you! (Note: once we've made the corrections, we will delete the posts to reduce confusion and redundancy. If your post disappears, that doesn't mean we're not Grateful. Quite the reverse.)

sorry for the repetition - no way to edit my original 3/5/71 post I guess. Anyway, the "previous show" link at 3/5/71 takes you to 2/24/71, not 3/3/71. I'm guessing all the confusion is due to the fact that the 3/3/71 poster actually says 3/3/70 so that show originally must've been listed as 3/3/70. (the ticket stub for the 3/3/71 clearly shows that the airwaves benefit was indeed on 3/3/71 so the poster must be wrong. See http://www.psilo.com/dead/showimage.php?iid=67&text=03-03-71%20Ticket)

This listing is kind of screwy - it says this show was at the Syndrome. The Syndrome was in Chicago so that can't be right. Poster says it was at the Carousel Ballroom (Fillmore West). Also, the "previous show" link takes you to 3/18/71! And the "next show" link takes you to 3/4/70. I know time could get kind of funky at shows but still...

A couple issues for the 3/5/71 listing: The notes are for the Airwaves Benefit which was on 3/3/71. Also the 3/5/71 poster says the show was held at the Oakland Auditorium Arena (aka the Kaiser). The dead.net listing says Fillmore West. Does anyone if it actually was held at Fillmore West?

I remember going to that Pacific Stereo free show at the Cow Palace. I think it was 1969, but I'm not 100% on that. What I do remember is that there were lots of fights in the stands during that show. This show was the reason I didn't go to Altamont (another free show), I went to shows for the music and to have a good time, not to get into fights. I've NEVER regretted skipping Altamont.

I have the biggest problem with this show. Not so much with the set list, nor with the opener. I know the Starship/Airplane (whatever incarnation) opened for them that day. The problem I have is that the concert wasn't held at Lindley Meadows. I remember it being held at Marx Meadow and sitting on the hill overlooking the stage looking down. If you know Golden Gate Park (I've lived in San Francisco since 1973), the only place you can do that is at Marx Meadow. Lindley Meadows is way to open for me to do that. For the last seven years I've worked on the staff of the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival that puts up stages at Speedway, Marx, and Lindley Meadows (90 performers on 5 stages over 3 days) and I know the venue very well. I still think that it was Marx Meadow for this concert. I need to have a little more info to help me prove that it was Lindley Meadow. Thanks. Also, I don't see mention of a free concert that they played at the Cow Palace for an old stereo outfit called Pacific Stereo. They gave away thousands of tickets to the concert but didn't let everyone in and a riot ensued with broken windows and cops in riot gear. I seem to remember a retail stereo show for gear followed by a concert with a couple of bands that included The Starship and The Grateful Dead. Phil was playing on the right side of the stage just above me and the music was really loud with notes coming out of the speakers like bubbles and popping over the audience. Then some lady came out on stage and said that she just wanted everyone to just please go home now. We left the Cow Palace to our car through a line of cops with nightsticks and riot gear - it scared the hell out of us. Anyway, memory gets fuzzy at that point. I'm not sure if the whole weekend was involved or if this was "the big night" or not. I have a feeling that the Butterfield Blues Band is in there somewhere. I don't remember the date though, sorry.

Correction: Fire on the Mountain does not appear on the set list on this page. This Lindley Meadows show was one of my favorites. I am sure they played Fire on the Mountain because it is the first place I ever heard it played. I remember remarking to my friend how awesome it sounded bumping along and teasing in its intro and jam. I don't recall how it was placed in the setlist though. Aren't there recordings of this concert to verify what was played from? I remember seeing mics in the air and a mixing board area in the middle of the crowd that had to be negotiated around.

Hello! I noticed that June 11, 1976 is not listed at all in the show history pages between 6/10 and 6/12/76. I assume this is just an oversight and that it can be generated and put up. only reason I noticed was because it is a favorite show of mine, but alas hasn't gotten the official GD web page treatment. Thank you, Sixtus

Hi Mary, I'm on my cell phone, so I can't copy and paste the URL. If you go to the "shows by year" link and navigate to the July 29th, 1974 show, Spanish Jam is listed right after Wharf Rat, but it should be right before Wharf Rat. The source of my info? I have two: the setlistFM website, and get this - the Dave's Picks 2012 Bonus CD lol. Funny, eh? KeithFan2112

The listing for this show cites 6/9/73 as the preceding show - the correct preceding show is Adams Field House, U of Montana on 5/14/74 - and 7/19/74 as the following show - the correct following show is Portland Memorial Coliseum on 5/19/74.

The third billed act was Country Joe and the Fish, not the Great Society. I'm looking at the poster right now. Also, could you put the poster up? Just Google "fillmore september 1966 poster" and click on the one with the naked lady. I was -8 1/2 years old at the time. Too bad. John

http://www.dead.net/show/march-22-1993 That link is listed/titled on the "By Year" page as being Oakland Col March 22 1993 but it contains the setlist for Atlanta March 22 1993. There is another seemingly duplicated link titled as Atlanta Omni March 22 1993 but there is no setlist in the info (http://www.dead.net/show/march-22-1993-0) <--- slightly different URL with that "-0" at the end.

So I'm looking through the show list for Fall Tour 1984 and didn't see Richmond Coliseum listed here. Initially I was wondering if it was all a dream. But I'm pretty sure there was a show in Richmond after Charlotte because I remember talking about it when I got back to school. I checked with Deadlists, and yes, there was definitely a show in Richmond on 10/6/84. But on this site, the next show listed in the Centrum.

and that Richmond 84 happened. It's tough when the memory plays tricks on you. I knew I was there. We rode down to Charlotte in the back of a red El Camino, and had some weird and wonderful adventures. I also recall a killer second set.

A friend shared a show in which the band played a song by Bob Dylan, "Stuck Inside of Mobile with the Memphis Blues Again." It's from the Capital Centre in Landover MD on 9/5/1988. I came here to see if they did it at any other shows, and was surprised to see a couple of things. First, I couldn't find the song right away because the title is listed incorrectly as "Memphis Blues." That needs to be fixed. Also, if I recall correctly, there were notes for songs saying which shows they were played at. That seems not to be the case anymore. I could be wrong about that, but not the first issue. Thanks

Just a note for those interested in show http://www.dead.net/show/june-21-1980 Cap. Center MD. Bruce Hornsby sat-in with the band. Awesome accordion riffs!!! First time I saw him. I thought everybody was booing the band, then Bobby announced his presence I realized it was Not a "Boo" but the crowd cheering "Bruce"

September 24, 1991http://www.dead.net/show/september-24-1991 The set list here says "Baby Blue" (It's All Over Now, Baby Blue). My tape says "(Used to Love Her) All Over Now". With my ears I heard It's All Over Now, the Bobby Womac song (http://www.dead.net/song/its-all-over-now), not the Dylan song (http://www.dead.net/song/its-all-over-now-baby-blue).

Not sure if this is the correct place to post this, so will try here and elsewhere. Hello fellow heads, The first two shows of the new PNW boxed set are incorrectly recorded — the R and L channels are reversed. These two shows were recorded by Rex Jackson, the next show, in Seattle, was recorded by Kidd Candelario and the channels are correct. Not sure how it is that David Lemieux and Jeffery Norman missed this and failed to correct it, but it is not the first time it has happened. There are selections on So Many Roads which are reversed, as well as Dick’s Picks #13 (which is VERY surprising, because it is an 80s show and not only the placement of the drummers in the stereo mix is obvious, but also super-obvious is the placement of Weir and Brent!). Interestingly enough, Dave’s Picks Vol 16, recorded by Kidd, is correct, but Dave’s Picks Vol 21, recorded by Rex, is not — the channels on that one are reversed. Both are 1973 shows. It is easy enough to discern whether or not the channels are correct by listening to the pan of the drums in the stereo mix; for a single drummer show in stereo the hi-hat is panned predominantly in the Right channel and the ride in the Left channel and the toms, when used as a fill, should go from R channel to L and from high to low. If you listen to even just the first song of each first set from the three 1973 shows in the boxed set you can hear the difference between the Vancouver/PDX recordings and the Seattle — listen to the drums. This is a phenomenon I have observed since getting on the bus in the mid 80s. (Several really good shows on youtube have their channels reversed!) I wrote to Lemieux about it a few years ago (he often posts show snippets on Tapers’ Section which are reversed — lots of stuff from 73, and spring 81 in particular, but a good recent example are the two first sets from Ventura 84 which he recently posted). At that time he excused the DP#13 as not being on his watch and indicated that fixing the reversed channels on the snipets was simply not a priority or interest for him. I have written to him several times regarding this current, expensive boxed set, but he has not replied. Some heads on FB have plead the “purist” defense for this, meaning that recordings should be released as they are, but I’m guessing many of these same heads love the Europe 72 and Spring 90 stuff, all of which has been heavily remixed and homogenized to the point of no longer being able to hear the venue/room nor the unique mix of each show; they sound awesome, but from a “purist’s” POV are certainly not accurate historical documents…so I see no reason why the production team wouldn’t correct a recording error such as the channels being switched unless they simply did not notice it due to lack of interest, lack of attention, lack of mindfulness. If you can hear the difference and feel, as I do, that this incredible music should be represented as best as possible, please email or tweet Lemieux at vault@dead.net or @lemieuxdavid and let him know.

Please give some attention to the show archive. I would like to see the page for the current 'Jam of the Week", but it's a lot harder to navigate than it should be. Can't there be a way to go to a specific date as can be done at setlists.net.

A real mystery here: I was at Meet Up At The Movies and did NOT see I Need A Miracle. I've checked setlists everywhere. Yet here is a video from youtube that shows them playing it. They are ALL wearing the same clothes. Then I found a video from 6/16/91 on youtube taken from the audience. This song is on it. But why oh why are they all wearing the same clothes two nights in a row???

liner notes erratum on ready or not:

To Mr. Lemieux or GD dead net staff:
Hey Now!
I recently purchased the CD Ready or Not and noticed a factual error in the liner notes by Jesse Jarnow. I write in hopes that the error is corrected for future releases if more batches of this cd are produced.

The error can be found on the first sentence of the second paragraph. " Starting in 1992, the Grateful Dead began to introduce songs that might constitute a follow-up album to 1989's In The Dark..." As you know the album released in 1989 was Built to Last not In The Dark.

I point this out so that new releases can reflect the history of our favorite band accurately.

Not Fade,

Aaron Reyes

PS Too bad Phil Lesh songs where not included....I am perhaps one of the few fans that liked Wave to the Wind...always considered it to be Phil's "Eyes of the World"....In particular the NC Chapel Hill 3/25/93 is a version that finally takes form and flies!

Two of my first GD Red Rocks shows were 7/29/1982 and 6/14/1984. I only know this because I found a box with a bunch of my old ticket stubs in it. When I search the archives for these shows the archives are one day off, showing both shows a day earlier than the ticket stub. Am I missing something? Did they shift the schedule and honor the previously purchased tickets? Help!
