The really cool part of that evening was after OMSat Night, the band left the stage & the crowd would not stop screaming, I mean it was deafening. Now it was 30+ years ago, but my recollection is that the roar continued for 15+/- minutes. The house lights went up and the noise got louder.
Then the crew came out and started taking down the band's equipment, and the crowd sounded like a torando. WOW, we were freaking out.
The drums were torn down, lights up full-blast, and the crowd knew there was more...and they were right.
Out strolls Jerry, guitar and microphone in-hand, the crew was startled and the audience went nuts. Billy & Mickey carried their drums back on stage and started the hypnotic beat to NFA. Really cool.
We were in heaven, and 10 minutes later everyone was exhausted from the dancing. We went home and we were thankful to have attended such a remarkable show, capped off with magical mayhem.
Wish I was there.
I've been to that theatre for Max Creek and Johnny Winters shows. The Allman Bros and The Dead had stopped using the venue at that point.
great show, except my buddy
great show, except my buddy lost his ticket after he got inside and they would not let him go to his seat until the 2nd half.

I'm pretty sure this was the night I went. I had a 1966 Ford van that was customized with a padded platform in the back. I brought along my Carlo Robelli bass that I'd been playing for maybe a year.I should have known Passaic NJ is NOT a nice place. I got back after the show and it was gone along with my 8-track (thank you!) AND my battery. I was bummed of course. It was late so I just curled up in the back. It was probably the kids who stole my stuff that called the police. How ironic is that? The light comes flashing in the curtained window and they tell me I can't sleep there! It just so happens these kids have an extra car battery! I inquired about my bass but no luck. I'm sure I would have become famous if I could have continued!

This was a first show for myself and my long time friend and we got tickets from the lottery drawing that was held from the fan club. What a score that was , I remember hitching from Rockland County and scoring a great dose of sunshine in the lobby bathroom right before the show started from a self proclaimed CAPTAIN TRIPS. What I remember from the show was the intermission and the cartoon was the Sunshine Makers with a bunch of rats making acid. It was really hot and I went behind the concession kiosk and got a bunch of ice and threw it into everyone in the lobby. It was like gold to all the people sweating and tripping their asses off. I always wanted someone to confirm the break at the end and the exit doors opening and half the place emptying out and then they shut the doors and the band came back out. Thanks for the testimony of that night. Incredible
