Brent
Sadly, this would be the last show I saw with Brent Mydland. I never recovered.

yes me to the eugene shows.. to give me just a little sweatness my brent from years past so far ahead of us
off to another land how sweet you are how lost i became as we all did....but if we are to forget his voice it will be as we never heard in the first place... what a lovelly day.....tents , bridge , peace on the water.. and the dog
brent
good bye brent, it was probably the last time the feds seen you to, remember the ones on top to the right of the stage with the 10 foot bionoculars.
The morning after
The morning after this show my wife and I picked up a copy of the local paper on our way back to Washington State. There was a story about the Dead. The head of the Eugene police was quoted as saying there had been almost no problems with the attendees. He said he would rather deal with 10 Grateful Dead shows than with the drunks and violent fans at a single University of Oregon football game.
And yet shortly afterwards the Dead were banned from Autzen for three years. Go figure.
As for the show itself, my top memory is Jerry in the encore, doing the best Brokedown Palace I ever heard.
sunshine day dream
the sky was yellow and the sun was blue! standing ovations for Brent.
nice show
this show is one of my favorite, nice sound board copys floating around.the band played really smooth and clean.
Ive gotta have these shows
Anybody out there have good recordings of both of these Eugene shows? Ive been trying to aquire this since... The day after i was at the shows? SEAKtrvlr@yahoo.com
Smoke
Anybody remember on the 24th, somebody had triggered a 'smoke' bomb up behind the stage? Man, that smoke! Twirling and hovering...it almost seemed like the smoke could feel the Phil's powerful bass waves.
