Okay, folks, here's the plan as we roll over into the next stage of vining. Each vine will have its own topic. As has been noted once or twice before, Iz and I are the only ones who can start topics. Hence, if somebody has a vine they want to start, post the particulars here. Then Iz or I will cruise by, start the new topic, and delete the post from the New Vines area so it doesn't get unwieldy. We'll see how this goes...

    Fall '77: Part 1
I'd like to plant a new vine. 3 fine shows from the fine Fall '77 tour. 9/29 Seattle, 10/14 Houston and 10/29 DeKalb. Everyone has probably heard of the DeKalb show and a lot of people may already have it, but the other 2 are a little less widely circulated. I believe that all 3 shows are gapless and I will burn them on I-Tunes to maintain the continuity from track to track. One quick caveat, the 9/29 show starts off a little weak sound quality wise as Betty did not flip some switch or something (see Taper's Compendium for story) until just before Grow. The Franklin's Tower that ends the first set alone makes this show worth getting by itself but the second set is great as well. First person PM their address. 'Nuff said, here is the info from Deadlists. 9/29/77, Seattle, Paramount Theater One Mississippi Half-Step Uptown Toodeloo [9:19] ; Mama Tried [2:39] ; Deal [#4:16] ; Looks Like Rain [6:36] ; Ramble On Rose [6:59] ; El Paso [#0:31] ; Sugaree [12:#30] ; Let It Grow [9:30] ; Franklin's Tower [16:42] Two Samson And Delilah [6:23] ; Ship Of Fools [6:59] ; Estimated Prophet [9:31] > He's Gone [11:04] > Drums [4:37] > Truckin' [9:#40] > Stella Blue [12:59] > Goin' Down The Road Feeling Bad [7:58] > Johnny B. Goode [4:15] Encore Uncle John's Band [9:49#] Comments: Recordings SBD 180 with the following cuts: A minute or two off the beginning of Deal; El Paso is missing all but the final verse; the splices In Sugaree and Truckin' appear To be minor tape flips; And Uncle John's Band cuts off near the end, It is not A major cut. 10/14/77 Houston, Hofheinz Pavilion, U of Hou One Jack Straw [5:03] ; Mississippi Half-Step Uptown Toodeloo [11:22] > El Paso [4:06] ; Brown Eyed Women [4:53] ; New Minglewood Blues [5:05] ; Loser [7:#09] ; Passenger [3:24] ; Friend Of The Devil [8:13] ; Me And My Uncle [3:08] ; Tennessee Jed [8:46] ; The Music Never Stopped [4:16#] Two Bertha [7:08] > Good Lovin' [5:59] ; Candyman [7:28] ; Playing In The Band [16:#56] > Drums [3:35] > The Wheel [7:15] > Wharf Rat [13:49] > Around And Around [8:23] Encore Brokedown Palace [5:51] > Playing In The Band [4:13#] Comments: Recordings SBD 180. Cuts In Loser And Playing In The Band are relatively minor tape flips, cutting off of the Music Never Stopped is criminal And likely On the master. Playing In The Band Reprise cutoff is probably less than A minute. 10/29/77 DeKalb, Evans Field House, N. Ill Univ One Might As Well [5:20] ; Jack Straw [5:41] ; Dire Wolf [3:37] ; Looks Like Rain [8:13] ; Loser [7:23] ; El Paso [4:26] ; Ramble On Rose [6:58] ; New Minglewood Blues [4:50] ; It Must Have Been The Roses [6:25] ; Let It Grow [12:41] Two Bertha [7:46] > Good Lovin' [6:09] ; Friend Of The Devil [7:56] ; Estimated Prophet [11:15] > Eyes Of The World [12:55] > Space [7:38] > Saint Stephen [8:03] > Drums [2:58] > Not Fade Away [7:32] > Black Peter [12:12] > Sugar Magnolia [8:53] Encore One More Saturday Night [4:55] Comments: Recordings AUD 180 And SBD 180. Timed from an audience copy except for Friend of the Devil supplied by SBD. (1) (2) (3) (4)

The Last Grateful Dead ConcertSoldier Field, Chicago 7/9/95 2 SHN data discs and 2 WAV audio discs, to make it easy. Very clean soundboard with lots of late era songs in the setlist. The last song Jerry ever sang in public was "Black Muddy River"- very poignant. Some people have been asking about this one over in the Taper's Topic, so here it is... folks, let's just say the editing tools are not too well suited for sweeping out large chunks of obsolete content here, so rather than waste long and hair-tearing hours doing so, I'm just going to freeze this topic and launch New Vines 2. Url coming momentarily.

Hi Mary! The link for where to post doesn't work for me, says not authorized, so I am posting here for your approval. As far as I can tell, none of these shows have been officially released in anywhere close to their entirety ( a few tracks here and there have been released). Let me know if there are any issues.

Here is a flash drive filled with 14 FLAC Hunter's Trix! Most are recent releases. The shows included are:
7/1/73
6/21/76
6/22/76
6/28/76
6/29/76
11/1/79
11/2/79
3/10/81
8/6/82
9/18/82
10/15/84
6/22/85
9/15/85
2/14/86
