Why does my browser always hang when I click on the Dead Covers Project, or What Are You Listening to Right Now links? I assume it has something to do with the YouTube video embeds, but man it happens on all of my computers. I run Windows 10, IE 11 with RAM ranging from 8 GB to 16 GB. The issue occurs on all of my machines. Perhaps it's processor related?

I apologize in advance if this has been answered before, but I'm new. I'm playing catch up with releases. 2 that I can't seem to find are the 11/5 &6/79 Spectrum shows released during the Road Trips era. I've read that they were download only, but is there anyway to access them for purchase? It seems strange that they are unavailable given the presence of the other RT shows for download. Thanks

Rich, can't wait to see what you got. I have not changed my contacts since Tony started tracking us. I did see that article, the first that got me thinking it was possible that someone had done such analysis. I also saw someone construct "average" set lists by year (too many links ago). As for this summer's Bobby et al. depends on whether the rumor on Camden pans out. MaryE, thanks for the lead, but can you give a hint how one would "check with Nicholas Meriwether at the Archive"?

Check out this link it has some interesting things.... http://firstmonday.org/article/view/2273/2064 Of all of the shows I've been to, the most memorable post Space tune was Brent's I Will Take You Home 7/04/89 out of space in the light misty rain.....the 80,000 in attendance were mesmerized.... Some academics are studying this sort of thing; there were some relevant presentations at the So Many Roads conference at San Jose State. I don't have my program handy, but check with Nicholas Meriwether at the Archive.

I will be giving a presentation on the Grateful Dead phenomenon to an audience that has not had the pleasure of being at a show, but really wants to know what it is all about. One of my themes will be the age-old artistic tension of absolute free-form expression within a confined framework, namely: Set 1, Set 2 with jams and Space, rousing finale, then one Encore. I have seen some stats on which songs most commonly appear as openers, set closers and encores, but I would like to go a little deeper. I am looking for a way to document my observation that one of the recurring elements in these shows is a reflective, soul-searching, song after Space (e.g. Wharf Rat, Ship of Fools, Stella Blue). This is my observation, but I would like to support it with some measure of “Frequency Distribution of Songs Played After Space”. Does this exist?

Similar to the Road Trips, any chance Dave's Picks show up on ITunes? I'm late to the party. Hope to start with 24 and the subscription for 2018. Would love a chance to grab some of the previous releases. Same question regarding the 30 trips box. Would be great to have access to them as well. Thanks.

I paged back within the Tapers Section this morning, looking for a features from October 2009: the chronological order goes wacky before 2011. Is there some way to find the older selections?I refererenced this index to find and listen to parts of the 10/19/80 show. https://archive.org/post/336569/deadnet-tapers-section-chronological-in…

Hey now, Just received the help needed.I asked for an act of Kindness, I lost my Dave's Picks 24, I request help, 2 members helped me out, and in return I helped them back. This is great, now would like to see a Pay It Forward, or an act of "Are You Kind" only topic.

Hi there- New to Dead.net, got an idea how to navigate, but could use some assistance finding the best place to post a request for assistance on a project. I am producing a photo book on the closing of Winterland. I am seeking fellow Deadheads who were at the show to share their stories for inclusion in my book. Where might be the best place to get a request like that seen? I have an email account where people can reach me for more details and to communicate about the project. Thanks for your assistance. When you click on a user (by the way, clicking on user not functional from every thread as it had been on prior site), the track function is no longer available. Any thoughts about bringing this function back so we can track a user's posting activity history?

Hi - Looking for a bit of help. Downloaded the free set in 2017 but a couple of the tracks are corrupted, also thought I had a similar download set from 2016 but cannot find it. Anyone have these that they could share? Thanks.

Hi,

I am a software engineer experimenting with some data visualization technics. I would love to get a copy of the show database to experiment with. This is not for any commercial purpose and I'm happy to open source any resulting visualizations.

Does anyone know where I might get a copy of the show DB?

thanks,
Joshua

Hi Mary, I recently read about a contest or exposition of Grateful Dead covers by other bands. I couldn't find any detail anywhere. Nor can I find the original source. Have you heard anything? Was I just hallucinating?

Thanks! Jim G

Still aware that it isn't here and still working on it? It's a shame that the new "crack team" of web designers were so easily outdone by their grandfathers.

I have 2 corrections for 3/25/72

1. I've Seen Them All is in between I'm A Man and Jam - Dick's Picks #30

2. Following the Lovelight was a Casey Jones which ended the show - I was there. They launched into Casey Jones just as the final notes of Lovelight faded.

There is no user search function. However, if you start a message and type in a likely name it will present you with a lot of options. This only helps if you sorta know the name they're going by. The flip side of this is getting friend requests on FB from people you have no idea who they are and they're all "Hey, it's me, HippyDude!"

Hi - Long time fan, first time caller. I am looking for direction. Specifically, I am building a boat, and I am planning on sailing it around the world. I'd like to use modified versions of GD iconography/images. I want to do it on the up & up- and would like to acquire rights to do so. Initially, I do not view this as a commercial endeavor, but eventually there may be some commercialization.

Does anyone have contact info for the licensing people that I would need to contact?

Hi,
I dunno it this is the right place to post this.

I live in France. I want to buy Ladies & Gentlemen The Grateful Dead as a digital download. I look on Amazon France but they don't have it listed so I can't buy it there.

I go to Amazon UK, find it, put it in my basket & then try to buy it with my UK credit card. It is refused. I ask Amazon UK why, & they explain it's because my UK credit card has my French address.

OK, I talk to my daughter who has a credit card with an English address. She tries to order it, & on the product listing it says "This product is not available for your device" because her phone is in Beijing, though her bank is in UK.

So why do Amazon France sell some Dead recordings but not others which are readily available on Amazon UK, Amazon Germany, Amazon Spain (I just checked) ? & how do I get a copy of Ladies & Gentlemen The Grateful Dead living in France?
